If you read Scott Thorson's book, Lee was leaving her to rot in another house and it was Scott's idea to bring her to the main house because of how close he felt to her. Lee loved her cooking but treated her like a complete afterthought (giving her a raise was like pulling teeth) and there's an incident where Lee's mother belittled her racially but he didn't stick up for her. But she was loyal and displays it in this ham of a puff piece.
