I suspect that the only firearms that will be surrendered will be those still in gun stores, whose owners desperately want to get compensated for the dead inventory they've been forced to keep in their vaults for the last four years. The government will try to tout this as a major success during the election campaign, but the bottom line is that not single gun in private hands is likely to have been confiscated. The election will be decided on economic issues, taxes and rising crime rates, which a losing issues for the Liberals.

My wife's company uses couriers to move cash between offices. Sealed envelopes, no change in them, just bills. The couriers have "lost" three packages in the last couple of months. After seen the latest news that the food banks across Canada are on the brink of shutting down, we're going to see what LIES politicians have to say to starving people. I doubt hungry stomachs and crying children will care what any politicians says, that includes Pierre Poilivre, he's just another career politician. I doubt he will cancel the national debt, remove income taxes, remove property taxes, the HST. Its all lies that we need to pay taxes or else society falls apart. How was infrastructure managed before taxes? Taxes didn't exist before World War 1, it was to fund the war with war bonds. Then World War 2, after the war why keep the income tax? Now fast forward to 2024, what isn't there a tax on, sit there and thing about it. You're working your lives away to pay over 65% of your wages on taxes. Politicians only have to serve 6 years in parliament and get a full pension, meanwhile everyone else has to work to 67 and many cannot retire because of the raising cost of living. You get to retire when you drop dead, meanwhile politicians get to live lavish lives off your hard work. Keep slaving away and voting, all these politicians take their turn stealing from all of you. If you have a previously non restricted shotgun or rifle that went from non restricted status to prohibited because some feminist didn't like the way it looked, its your duty to keep it and not comply. It was an unjust law to make Rosa Parks sit at the back of the bus. Its also unjust for the libs to confiscate non restricted long guns from PAL holders. Don't comply. An Axor MF-2 shotgun is not an AR-15 variant, first of all its a shotgun & second of all it shares no parts with an AR-15, yet it goes from non restricted straight to prohibited because the government said its an AR-15 variant. Back in 1998 the British Labour ('Liebour') party banned handguns after the police screwed up *big time.* The process there was the police would receive and store the guns prior to destruction. Many of the surrendered guns subsequently went 'missing' from police custody and in at least one instance a police station was broken into overnight and all the guns they were storing stolen.

Letting untrained and unqualified citizens run around with firearms makes society less safe as most citizens do not understand the law and view things subjectively/selfishly. This is what leads to things like road rage shootings, pizzagate, and *BS* stand your ground shooting where the shooter either chased down the supposed "aggressor" or shot them in the back. Society is less safe with idiots running around with guns claiming it is for self defense...
