This YTer is weak bodied and weak-minded and not willing to see that most of the problems are external to some degree and that if we can fix that, we will slowly heal. As far as doing it ourselves without touching the government or NGOs, we need to vote with our dollar by not buying from publicly-traded companies, because it is those who control us with the government's help.

There was no UBI during COVID. That is simply not true. You had better hope for a UBI. There will be NO JOBS of any kind in the upcoming post scarcity economy. This is the end of work. Exactly. Our government incentivizes staying home and breaking up the family, all while leaving the border wide open and the excuse for that is we need the work force. Think how much better off we would be if we weren’t being taxed to death to pay for endless wars so politicians can feed from the troth from the military industrial complex, gain more control and power. Paying people to set at home, often times from cradle to grave and multiple generations. I’m old enough to remember government cheese and peanut butter, when you couldn’t load down a shopping cart full of crap junk food and pay for it with food stamps because you were limited on items that could be bought with food stamps. But I’m also young enough to see the ushering in of the new world when regulation’s on items were lifted and hardcore incentives were being produced in my teens when an older sister started having babies and learning they were the same as a never ending paycheck. The more she had the more she got. One of my high school classmates figured it also and had 4 children all by different men. Never worked a day in her life until the children were grown. Her 2 girls continued the chain and one has 3 children while the other has 4. Neither of them have worked a day in their life either. Their children are starting to come of age to start having children of their own. I guess I’ll see if they break the chain A lot of the suicides and homeless are likely tied to the endless taxes and the high cost of living manufactured by running the money printing presses full tilt and nonstop. Just quitting the endless war machine and getting people off welfare would likely fix a huge part of it. But that would be relinquishing control and it would be slim pickins in the feed troth all of the politicians eat from. So that’s why they won’t do anything for positive change. It’s the professional wrestling theater of ignoring the real problem and playing make believe trying to fix the symptoms in public while they all feed from the same troth behind closed doors.. They think we are to stupid to figure it out..

It's the most powerful song I've heard in so long i can't remember. It's authentic, raw and heartfelt. I've never seen a song resonate with so many different people at a soul level. It's American folk music, out of the mountains in Appalachia. It's authentic, raw and heartfelt. It's proven that we have everything in common that matters. I think we start there. UBI isn't the answer honey. All that does is take from the working and give to those that don't work but are able to. I don't think this song is about any of that. I think it's more about what we have in common and the struggles and thoughts of regular people. You're spot on with the depression of young men. He acknowledged the high rate of suicide rate of young men in our country. Psychedelics may not be a good idea for everyone lol. Oh God, I'm imagining some of the people I know on Psychedelics lmao. 😅 I'm up for it though! I don't do pharmaceuticals. I believe in pain medicine if you need it and antibiotics. Not too long ago he was struggling with alcohol and depression. He fell to his knees and prayed to God to take them away and for him to go forward with his music. God answered his prayers. A local radio station that scouts talent throughout Appalachia approached him and asked if they could record him. They posted it just days ago and the rest is history. It's the only song that's been professionally recorded. There's others that are so good too, in the top 10, but they were recorded on his iPhone. He's so surprised at the reaction and outpouring of love. He played a farmers market Sunday and there was standing room only. 25 acres of parked cars. He said in June he played for 20 people. Lol. Before his performance he didn't plug him, his songs or his social media. He read a verse from psalms about how the wicked will not prevail. Everyone was singing along and knew all the words despite it being released only a few days prior. It still hasn't been a week. He stayed 4 hours after talking to every person who wanted to talk with him and he listened to their stories. An inspirational young man with an inspirational story and an angelic voice that everybody feels. He quit his job as a factory worker to pursue his music. He bought land and lives on that with his dogs off grid. This song is recorded on his land

My problem with psychedelics is what makes them any different than the bottle or any other drug? I can’t count how many people I’ve witnessed using the bottle or drugs as an escape. Their problems don’t go anywhere and are often compounded and added new ones. I learned at a young age it’s better to fave them head on with a sober mind. I’m a firm believer the anxiety, depression and such is merely a symptom of much larger problems. Like take our war veterans coming home mentally wounded and our government ignoring them. We had veterans deciding to end themselves in VA parking lots for what? How many of our troops gave the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan and Iraq? Look at Iraq and Afghanistan now. What did they pay the ultimate sacrifice for? Look at the state our government has our own country in and then try to tell me DC gives a flying crap about national sovereignty, democracy and freedom of the people. If you look into their investment portfolios and who lobbies them you as well as their attempt to install puppet governments you will understand why we were there. One would have to be asleep to think Russia attacked Ukraine unprovoked. How many years has our government been portraying Russia as the boogeyman for spying, election interference and everything else like the US is innocent of this? Don’t you remember the talks of Ukraine joining NATO before Russia attacked? I do. Thanks to Ronald and Nancy Reagan we likely avoided nuclear war years ago. NATO not expanding east, especially along Russia’s border was part of agreement to end the Cold War. Now listen to Washington, they are not only saying Ukraine will no doubt become part of NATO but talking regime change for Putin. How f’n smart is it to call regime change for the man with all those nukes? DC and NATO clearly had no ambition to hold up to the agreement that helped end the Cold War. Yes Putin may have admirations to reform the Soviet Union, but how many governments has the US and NATO allies toppled and tried to install puppet governments? How are they any different? The proxy war in Ukraine is a dream for DC. They are making a mint off the military industrial complex thru their private investments, lobbying, and shady back door deals. A lot of that “aid” is being funneled directly back to them. They are using Ukrainians as pawns and it’s an easy sale to many Americans because so far it’s not American troops dying, not on the record at least. But if anyone thinks American boots aren’t on the ground and there is likely a lot of “training accidents” happening they are delusional. This will screw the families of what they deserve. Anxiety and depression?.. How often is that tied to not making enough money and or the constant attacks on men and masculinity? How much easier of a life would the average American have if they were not being taxed endlessly? How many Americans would be alive today if they weren’t being taxed to death to pay for endless wars that DC is getting rich off of and paying millions to sit on their azz?? Instead of trying to mask and fix the symptoms why don’t we focus on the problems causing the symptoms?

@lanejohnson After listening to this song more times than I can count and listening to Oliver Anthony’s empassioned speech on his way home from Moore’s Farm I am grateful to the reactor in this video for being the first person to actually suggest any solution to the problems brought so bravely up in the song. Oliver tasked each of us in his last recording to find what is next, and perhaps if we all chose to set aside our rush to judgement, we could all learn from each other and find a way out of the mess we are in. I for one would love to her more, not only from Gestalt Uncut, but from anyone who is willing to stop pandering to the “Us against Them” mentality that is plaguing us all. Let’s start closing our mouths and opening our ears long enough to build a community of people who lo longer must be sidetracked by every dog whistle. @tacticangel Жыл бұрын
If you want the sort of honest assessment you requested, you appear to have made a song review into a channel advertisement through the not-all-that-relevant discussion of therapy and psychedelics. Without being long-winded about it, the singer appears to want the world to change, not to be made comfortable within it. As general editing commentary, you need fewer jump cuts. It's also somewhat obvious that you're reading, in parts, which seems somewhat at odds with how torturously self-censored the monolog seems to be. In either case, it probably reads as inauthentic to a lot of people, though there are alternative explanations.
@gestaltproductionsUNCUT Жыл бұрын
That’s relevant feedback. I regret scripting it because it definitely made it seem less authentic. I wanted to ensure I discussed everything I intended to, but that came at the cost of perceived genuineness. In terms of changing the conditions of the world, the primary step is to take full responsibility and change ourselves. That means changing our consumption practices, our way of interacting with one another-both online and in person-and our way of thinking. Though the link between this song and psychedelic therapy seems more clear to me-given the info I’m working with-I shouldn’t have used it in the way I did, as others do not share the info I’m working with. My follow up video goes into this. However, I do think what I’ve said has been badly misinterpreted by many in these comments. What’s done is done though. You often only get one opportunity with a new audience.

The Q. is where to begin. You posit, with ourselves. That ignores the reality of the commons, that those who restrain themselves will be diminished while those who abuse the commons will prosper. Therefore a systemic realignment is necessary, a law of men, not the jungle. Of course, this isn't easy, and we may be on the verge of something (in this country) abrupt, unplanned perhaps violent. As much as I like the song, our current struggle is a symptom of a decaying empire, and to recede gracefully may not be possible when we're saddled with leaders not fit for purpose. @@gestaltproductionsUNCUT

As a 50 yr old working class man that has done many manual labor jobs to skilled labor pretty much starting working in the 4th grade by stealing my elderly neighbor’s lawn mower from her. I will agree with you on the lack of work ethic, but I would also add the severe lack of pride today. As for working to make someone rich goes. If you are paying taxes you are making politicians richer because they have endless schemes to funnel money to themselves with your tax dollar, they are not in DC to serve the people. As far as working for someone to make them rich. Even today people are starting their own businesses, nobody is stopping you but you. If you don’t want to work for someone feel free to take on all the risk and stress of creating your own business. If you get big enough to have employees helping to make you rich the risk and stress is even more because they are relying on you to make good decisions and keep your business healthy so they have a job. If you don’t care about that you will be a pisspoor boss and they will likely walk. I’ve had many opportunities to be my own boss. But I’m not ignorant to the stress and risk that comes with it. Although I have a very good work ethic and very prideful of my work I enjoy leaving work at work when I go home with very little to no work related stress. When I’m out with my friends that own their own business at like a motorcycle rally I’m stress free while they may be there physically but their mind is back home at work. I choose that’s not the life for me. Hell yes my boss makes money off my labor. However she is the one who took the risk and invested in the company and endures all the stress to keep it profitable so she deserves it. I get a fair wage for my work, if I didn’t I wouldn’t be there. I built a reputation of having a strong work ethic and nobody has me chained to that job. You have choices. Work for someone or take on all the risks and stress. Stress of owning a business can bury you just as fast if not faster than working your azz off. If you don’t think someone deserves being rewarded for their risk and stress of providing you a place for employment you can’t expect someone to work for you for free. That’s just the cold hard reality.. If you was the business owner you would be looking to make money off your employees, the more employees you have the more you would be looking to make total. Expanding, repairing and improving a business costs a crap load of money..

Bro, you're funny. You played the algorithm to pitch your high-minded plan (not a pun) to give psychedelics to crazy people. Even as a little mormon boy I always had psychedelics on my bucket list, and now that I'm grown, I've had all the experiences I felt were so important to understand my mind and what it's capable of. And I learned SO much. I did my time in alienation from The Spirit. I laughed and scorned religious people - I twisted myself into knots trying to convince myself I was the product of primordial chance - that nobody cared how I lived and no one would mourn me when I'd gone, and that the Earth itself would reject me if it could, as a virulent cancer just causing destruction and waste. But wisdom is slow to come, and it's earned by *suffering*. The psychedelic experience IS NOT for everyone, because it's a deliberate taste of madness. When your life is madness, more madness isn't a cure, it's an accelerant. Those of us who were born into security (2 parents, sanitary living conditions, clean drinking water, intellectual stimulation, creative outlets) CANNOT actually understand the extreme poor. Victims of malicious abuse. Homeless men and women rifling through slimy, moldy garbage for edible morsels. Grandmothers in diapers staring at bare walls day after day because literally everyone has forgotten them. But LSD, taken recklessly, will teach you about all of that. About the sorry, desperate state of the human being - and about the malevolent evil that fully saturates our world, and which revels in our suffering as an end in itself. This world is full of REAL horrors. And the most obvious answer is that we face a personified enemy - a spirit of total darkness that takes active measures to fight against life itself. It WANTS to see viable newborn babies shredded into hunks of limb and intestine. It WANTS to confuse and bastardize our language so we won't understand each other anymore. It WANTS our young boys and girls to cut their healthy body parts off for a quick buck and then sob into their handheld supercomputer that some total stranger misgendered them on the bus. It WANTS to monitor our every action so that those who would not co-sign its damnable bullshit can be forever silenced. It paints every historical moment before THIS one as backward, bloodthirsty and cruel because that's IT'S resume. The war, the bloodshed, the tyranny, the torture... it's SO proud of ALL of that. It's the spirit that takes our most beautiful and most gifted daughters, and rapes them over a casting couch - or tells them to gag themselves on a webcam for $5 tips. It takes our strongest, bravest, most honorable young men and it blows their legs apart, or melts the flesh off their faces inside multi-million dollar battle tanks for no good reason at all. It builds weapons of total-annihilation, and then it dangles them directly over our heads, whispering to our leaders that "You'll be fine. We have bunkers for YOU. You're too important." It's the spirit that says we should embrace starvation and decay because we *carbon-based-life-forms* emit too much *carbon*, and we should flog ourselves over the shoulders every time the weather changes, because WE'RE the cancer, and not HIM. I've met the spirit of darkness, and he's a fucking asshole. And as sure as I live, there is an equal and opposite force. A spirit of light. He likes corny things, like monogamous heterosexual pair-bonding, bringing casseroles to the pot-luck, pinewood derbies, flossing, cheering for the slow kid at the talent show, calling your grandfather just to hang out, holding the door open, spontaneous beatboxing, and complimenting strangers on their shoes... THAT guy rules. And this world isn't going to get any better until we follow HIS corny-ass, regular-ass, non-edgy plan of salvation, and shed this utterly artificial "modernity" that's not working for anybody except the very worst among us. ~fin

It is a sadly timeless song. 100 years ago the Battle of Blair Mountain happened, the largest labor uprising in US history. And it happened in that part of the world, Appalachia. And it was coal miners, wish politicians would look out for miners. Those labor movements led to gains that eventually, along with other factors, got us into the 50s and 60s when you could get a livable wage job with a high school diploma and get a house, a car, and raise a family on a single income. The decline since the 70s has been dramatic and we are right back to where we were in 1921 when the Battle of Blair Mountain happened.

I respect the fact you acknowledged you aren’t working class. I think the absolute main issue and reason this song has gone viral is inflation and tax increases on the middle and working classes. People have noticed that politicians are almost always wealthy irregardless of political party. The news says that inflation is coming down, but the reality at super market check out for people is still too much to bear when the dollar doesn’t go far. Your solutions aren’t bad ones. I agree that psychedelic therapy has great potential, but that won’t work if people are still trying to just survive. It’s become so hard to eat not to mention keep a roof over your head due to inflation and interest rates. All the while, political elites are taking vacations to the Galápagos Islands on yachts.

There was a point where liberals and the far left focused on all of the marginalized. Sadly it seems evident that the focus has shifted to *some* marginalized while others are discounted due to skin color, political views, geography, values and/or religious beliefs. Mental health is definitely an issue but those on the political left have not done nearly enough introspection into their own contributions to the problem of why those who don't share their political views "talk past them" (hint: it's because the political left have been "talking past them" as well) and are no longer willing to engage in healthy discussion. Psychedelics may help to bring about solutions but mirrors work well too.

It isn't my intent to start a snarling match. We get enough of those online. I'm just a hillbilly from West Virginia & therefore suspicious when someone comes along offering to help. From the serfdom of the mining companies & company towns to the poison pill offered in the name of compassion which has taken so many lives through opioid addiction, there isn't much trust left to offer outsiders. One of the issues with therapy is something you briefly addressed. A man isn't going to ask a doctor to cut on him if he doesn't trust the surgeon. This is even more deeply the case when someone is offering to metaphorically stick their fingers in your brain and swirl your thoughts around "for your own good". Academics often look at us as damaged people filled with the wrong ideas rather than fellow human beings. That sort of contempt can be felt & will be matched, which makes trust & healing not only difficult but impossible. With respect, one part of the multivariate equation you mention has to be immigration reform. White collar workers with degrees on the wall aren't the ones being edged out when there is an influx of millions into the country. The people who are affected are the guys breaking their backs in sawmills, the men burning in the sun to repair a roof and the blood-soaked worker in the meat processing plant who has been replaced because it is more cost efficient to hire three illegal aliens so the corporation can pay them less & not waste money providing them benefits. I worked in sawmills, retail, & freight for years before finally being able to go to college in my late 30s. Thanks to our new economy, the interest on those loans I took out gambling for a better life are skyrocketing. Thankfully I centered my study on practical matters, land surveying & environmental science. There will always be work cleaning up the mess made in resource extraction, be it an abandoned mine or an oil rig site which needs to be reclaimed to restore lost habitat. I'm one of the lucky ones who can at least chip away at the debt. A lot of the people I know weren't blessed with the opportunity which came my way. One thing to keep in mind is a considerable number of people are growing increasingly more restless & they're seeing an ever-dwindling list of reasons to remain placid. While the left & the right bicker from their gated communities, those on the outside are going to be tempted to simply up-end the board & scatter the pieces. As one statesman put it, a long train of abuses & usurpations whose object is to establish tyranny will be met by those with the will to alter the system of government. Many people have cut their lives short because of despair. Others will react differently, seeking rather to lash out at others. We're sitting on a powder keg & pretending as if this is normal, just another issue to address & check off the list with bread & circuses. I've always thought of myself as fairly left-leaning, hence the focus on environmental remediation. The thing is any deviation from the given script is immediately met with condemnation & ostracism. I lost many friends when I suggested 'punching a Nazi' wasn't the most reasonable course of action, especially given how easily people apply labels these days. If any approaches to our issues are to have a chance of success, both entrenched camps are going to be forced to make concessions. What happens when compromise fails? Well, we've seen it play out before, in 1861. I'd rather it not come to that. After all, who is going to gain or defend more ground, the people who can't even figure out if they're a man or a woman that day, or the ones who can pluck a squirrel from a branch at 100 yards? I don't expect you to read this. Modern attention spans aren't equipped for it. If you do, you're a saint. I'm curious as to your propositions & will subscribe to continue to listen.

Your a lot like me, except the environmental conservation is not a liberal thing it’s a good human thing. I’ve worked in the resources industry for years in Canada and although there have been mishaps in the past our local governments demand environmental protection, while leftist elite activists promote blowing up pipelines to help their cause against oil production. Doesn’t make sense, but that is what most of this climate bs is about is another tax on our dollar going to rich men in Davos!

I am not sure working on yourself though therapy can provide furfilment to the same degree as doing something for others can. The others can be family, church, coaching your local soccer team, ... and producing and selling something others needs. I would think a big source of lack of furfilment, is all the jobs people feel are pointless except it pays their bills - Especially if those bills just goes to pay for ones own needs, and not the needs of a family.

Although I don’t agree with his ideas (I’ve actually asked him to better explain them, what they would look like in detail), but I’m getting the hint that he has enough common sense to know government isn’t the answer. That’s super rare for a liberal these days.. I hope he responds to my message.

Gestalt uncut reaction Well at least you are recognizing the pain That said the first inclinations is to suggest state/government paid therapy for people suffering. And no my first inclination is not to say that we can't afford the cost of this therapy/ counseling ( although we can't ). The second inclination is universal income The third suggestion is state sponsored psychedelic assisted therapy because hey if they are high they won't suffer so much. My first reaction is that most of the people identifying with this problem do not need therapy, they know exactly what they are experiencing and what is wrong. The people suffering need a lower cost of living and they know that unfortunately it is only government action or rather inaction that is needed to even possibly get to that point, although it seems that the more programs and regulations, the higher the cost of living and tax burden. Which leads us to the second proposal of a universal income which absolutely like the first suggestion would lead to an increased cost of living. What seems to be failed to be realized is that people are working 50- 80 hour weeks and just getting by. Over 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and are one medical or car accident, one oh shit my refrigerator is fried moment away from not being able to afford groceries or electricity or God forbid losing the roof over their heads. There is an entire generation staying long past adolescence with their parents and despite working insane hours aren't able to afford to break free. This is leading to a sense of despair that reaches increased suicide proportions. These solutions encourage dependency rather than promoting a sense of self worth. Both dependency on the Government and on substance abuse because yes be it antidepressants, drugs, alcohol or psychedelics if you need them just to get by then you are dependent upon them. Not to mention that people are having a hard enough time carving out time for themselves and their family after working all day overtime for bullshit pay, or worse multiple part time jobs that don't even pay overtime.I'm not sure that spending that limited free time spaced out on psychedelics or going to a counseling session is going to help this. Hell if you are working part time at Walmart or similar, they don't even give you the same days off every week. And then there is the simple fact that our very civilization needs plumbers, electricians, mechanics, carpenters, farmers, factory workers, Nurses, Doctors, Amazon drivers, Uber eats drivers, engineers, road construction workers, loggers, railroad workers, police, fire fighters, ambulance drivers and temps, commercial pilots, airline workers, taxi drivers… God the list could go on for a full page. These people who are the cornerstone of our civilization, the people working massive hours to keep this economy running so that the rich can get richer do not have the luxury of taking time off with a limited universal income check ( and it would be limited I know as my late husband a dual transplant recipient who had to wait three months on SSI after kidney failure going from $15 per hour with 40-50 hours a week to $140 per month for three months, thank God we lived with my Mom at the time, before getting $750 per month on disability). They can't afford to be getting high and exploring their creativity, some thanks to KZbin and Patreon are attempting to do something as a side gig to try to get a little bit ahead instead of just getting by. These people are working their asses off sacrificing time with their family and are being looked down upon by elites both within the government and without. They are insulted and called every name in the book, or looked upon with pity because they are just too stupid to get it. People are waking up though and it has led to the open borders to let in millions of what is perceived as low education individuals who will buy the propaganda being put out. This is leading to unbearable costs for border towns and small towns throughout the USA not to mention even more competition for the bullshit jobs. As far as releasing prisoners from overcrowded prisons or no cash bail, well we are already seeing that practiced in NYC, Portland, California and amazingly this is leading to increased crime and gang violence in their communities, again this is hitting minority and poor communities the hardest. Small business owners who have worked their asses off for years to establish a business or buy a franchise are getting broken into, having their business trashed to where these businesses are simply leaving those dangerous neighborhoods and that means that grandma now has to walk 3-4 miles one way through that dangerous neighborhood to get her medication or groceries or to cash a damn check. Not that you have likely noticed as you don't live within said communities and I am guessing haven't spent a hell of a lot of time within. Don't get me wrong, I applaud anyone who does manage to get a leg up and move out to the suburbs, but I am not blind to what is going on either Then add to this that every Government assistance program becomes almost immediately a victim of fraud within the system. No the people who are getting screwed are the ones who are attempting to live within the law and these people don't want the handouts you are offering. They just want a fair shake in life, to have a lower cost of living, be able to work a few less hours without having to worry about not being able to get by and a smaller government that is actually working for them rather than the big corporations and donors. You do however have it right when you say the education system is failing, however it is Liberals like you that look down on home schoolers and protest education vouchers and school choice. You are also correct that it will take private effort to overcome these issues. You will not get that help through corporations however as a larger indebted population and a decreased small business ownership benefits these large corporations. Which is the ultimate irony as this corporate power and wealth, the monopolies being created has only increased with every Liberal action. No this help must come from people living in or near these communities and from voting for candidates who might potentially actually care a little bit and actually understand the problems. Don't fall for the BS false promises. Perhaps when you walk a mile in the shoes of the people with whom the song Rich Men North of Richmond is resonating, you actually will have an understanding of what people are going through. And guess what, that is totally possible, but it will require you giving up a good job/ source of income at least temporarily. I don't propose giving away your wealth, merely placing it all in a trust under someone else's care temporarily while you go out and actually work one of the above jobs and try to get by on that limited income. Peace

This is a very thoughtful post. I posted a follow-up video, which reiterates how none of this stuff should be offered by the government. When I say UBI, I am talking about compensating therapy in the same way we compensate a job. We’re placing an incentive behind something pro social.

Hear, hear! Well, said. None of this is coincidental, none of this is accidental. Schools K-12, but especially universities are indoctrination centers, meant to keep students obtuse and to turn them into Iemmings to prop up the Machine. More people than ever are anxious, depressed, addicted, and suicidaI. And more chiIdren than ever are anxious, depressed, addicted, and yes, suicidaI. “Every year, approximately half a million children with mentaI or behavioraI health conditions are evaluated in emergency departments, according to the AAP.” I don’t know what the answer is to stop this crisis, scratch that-deleting social media, and “dating apps” would probably put a huge dent into it, but I do know that seeking therapy isn’t it. If SSRI’s did the job they were supposed to do, then we wouldn’t have this crisis at all. The only people who would gain something from people seeking therapy would be the pharmaceuticaI industry, and the psychiatrists that write the prescriptions for drugs that do absolutely nothing but turn people into zombies. I know from personal experience. Experiencing depression, fear, and anxiety isn’t an “illness.” We are built to feel these things, and numbing them out is counterproductive. People need to reconnect with each other…in real life. We need community (which the Church used to provide) common goals, and we need fathers _in the home._ All of these things have been replaced by social media, and the State.

God Bless you for sharing this. Your right about the left / right needs to unite we are all struggling. I was lower class and now I am middle class I am a Marine Corps Vet and I believe this song is the spark that can make change. The American spirit is one of Independence and working hard for what you have. The problem is the government has too much control. They sent 100 Billion dollars to Ukraine, they also shut down the entire economy overnight. They don't care about us left or right, republican or democrat they look at us all as pawns on a chessboard. They will say whatever they need to for votes with an end goal of keeping the rich richer and poor poorer. Imagine what could be done with 100 Billion dollars used for the people. Without the working class we don't have a country. These are the people who build your universities, they deliver your food, they do the jobs that need to be done to have a functioning society and they pay a heavy toll on their bodies. There is no getting around it most folks don't mind it as long as they can enjoy their fruits with there family and make that American dream. They estimate to retire for our generation 1.2 million in the bank. How are people that do a job that needs to be done for a functioning society going to save that kind of money. My grandparents had 9 kids and my grandfather was only provider working as a carpenter and he was able to provide for his family live comfortably and own a home and only work 40 hours a week. This is how far its gotten, because of stupid policies to take away our independence and make us more reliant on the government. The feeling of purpose you talk about is fulfilled when you work a hard days work and are able to enjoy it with people you love. When you work 80 hours a week and barely get by, this is modern day slavery my friend. History has shown that power corrupts. Less government is better, Communities can take care of the issues you are talking about. We don't need an Elite Class to think for us. Thank you again for reaching out and trying to come together.

Interesting conversation! As someone on the right your idea of psychedelic therapy does have some merit ! I disagree with universal wages but the therapy could do alot of good. It is impossible for everyone to be equal in pay , not everyone can put in the same effort or value into an economy. For instance not everyone can be a doctor or engineer. That is why everyone should have the same opportunity, not outcome !

Psychedelics and music saved my life. I wouldn't say I'm "working class," but I've spent enough time depressed to know what pain feels like. The world is what made me depressed through the empathy i felt for people. Despite being raised in a well-off household, I never lived a life anyone would envy. I do not wish the loneliness I lived through on my worst enemy. Regarding this song, sure there's a lot of backlash about the "cheap shots" against obesity. However, as someone who credits music for saving my life, i must say that there's deeper meaning to music than the strict meaning of the lyrics line by line. If you don't take the context of the sounds into account, you miss *so* much. In truth, you can't know anything about a song until you've heard it all the way through, perhaps multiple times. The best way to listen to music is to disregard the lyrics for the first few listens, and only listen to the melody and instrumentals. Then start paying attention to lyrics. You will better understand the artist's purpose that way. Afterall, if they could get the same message across by reading a poem to you, they wouldn't be singing and playing instruments. He isn't looking down on fat people, he's showing empathy for them and critisizing the system that failed them. The purpose of the melody and minor key is to attach emotion to the lyrics that inspire you to ask *why* there is so much obesity, and *why* men are putting themselves six feet in the ground. It saddens me that people don't understand this, because it's this understanding about music that kept me from putting myself six feet in the ground.
