Economists disagree with you; 300 economists signed a letter supporting the budget and the carbon tax because it's strengthening the economy and future-proofing it. If you want to support Pierre because he looks hot with a spray tan and makes cute rhymes ("axe the tax"), then do it. I'm actually a fiscal conservative -- which means, much like Stephen Harper, I support the carbon tax and investing in productivity. Want to flirt with Pierre? Sure. Don't pretend to be fiscally conservative while you're doing it.

Canadians see the childcare program as benefiting mostly religious immigrant minorities at the expense of Canadians already here. We don't support giving more tax dollars to immigrants (who sadly have much larger families).

Meh we get the 10$ a day childcare but guess what it eats into the daycares funding. They are so understaffed and now extremely underfunded that we can literally only drop our kids off from 3-5 most days, where as when we were paying full price we had never seen those issues at all.

I find it laughable that cut's or the threat of cut's would steer a voter away from the Conservative party. Keep doubling the debts, and the "cut's" issue will most assuredly take care of themselves. If you don't agree, talk to anyone who's had to renew their mortgage at several points higher lending rate. Quite likely they had to "cut" other items or pleasures from their lifestyle to make the payments.

The one huge thing everyone here is forgetting is there IS NO ELECTION CAMPAIGN. Without that Poilievre is not required to answer the questions of what he’ll cut, he needs to do what he’s doing, opposing the poor decisions made by the government in power. Too bad Trudeau can’t focus on doing his job, being a PM without focusing in such a large part in the polls. Putting out a budget designed to corner the opposition shows how little focus this government has on running the country.
