That was a great game. Our running game looked awesome and we dominated on the ground. We didn't have to match them pass per pass. The defense was just amazing. They completely shut down Leach. Glad I have cable.

@@zaynegrooms4722 Yeah, excuses, or, the guys on the team who were there could have put some effort into the game. Tech didn't have a full interim coaching staff, no ST coach for one, and we still dominated that side of the ball. MSU players just thought they'd win because they are SEC, but that only works for UGA & Bama, because they are actually good.

It was one of the most important wins in Texas Tech history. Not because it was a meaningless bowl. You had a fired head coach, you had the first reunion with Leach, and the program just needed a W. It closed the book on a lot. Also an important W for QB Smith

This is a blueprint of how you beat a Mike Leach team, we saw it at Tech; you run the ball and make the quick tackles on their short passes. Eventually, drives will stall and then the clock works against them with a tired D. Cumbie saw it as a QB and coach for Leach, in retrospect, we should not have been surprised.

Even after the poor showing for the $EC they will have numerous teams ranked at the beginning of next season to continue the false narrative of how good the conference is overall. The $EC is two or maybe 3 top teams and the rest are just like everyone else.

This bowl season alone should be proof enough on why the SEC conference is over hyped... they have the most good programs and national champions in history, sure... but people act like the entire conference is a division of its own, when not even half of the conference is above average or better. Which makes me question how good Bama really was in 2021 considering they cut it pretty close to some of these losing teams....

Texas Tech destroys Miss. St. with a red shirt freshman QB while Miss. St. has their starter all year round. No excuses here. The SEC is 0 and 4 and it shows you other conferences can beat them. Clemson almost beat Georgia with a freshman QB who hasn’t performed well all year. Every year Alabama won’t play a top team away. Let me see them play a big 12 team in Oklahoma or Texas. Or play Ohio St., Michigan or Penn St at their stadiums. Not happening. All their supposed games are at a neutral spot but really they have a home advantage. Let me see them play in a really cold environment like a Michigan, Iowa or Ohio St.. Not happening. These are tough games to play. All their games are in excellent weather. The problem is that the NCAA and the SEC protect college footballs cash cow’s conference. And I have been an avid College Football fan for over 50 years.

Hey I'm a Mormon who follows BYU. We lost but I can assure you we wanted to win that game. But what I came on here to say is props to your school I've been around for awhile and it's been a long time since I've seen TT defense play that well. Matt Wells didn't work out but since he came TT is finally playing fb the right way. The run game, throwing to a te, playing defense, special teams things Leach or Kingsbury couldn't be bothered with. And if Joey McGuire works out TT fb can finally get on the big stage. Good luck.

Alabama is part of the reason why college football has gotten so incredibly stale. We need to see other teams besides the usual 3-4 in more prominent spots in order to effectively revitalize the sport.
