@TheFunnyDictator it was a mod that allowed people to play MW2 remastered multiplayer and was made on the MWR engine. Activision put the base game on sale the week leading up to its launch and fans assumed it was in support of the mod, and the day the mod was set to release Activision rugpulled everyone and sent a cease and desist to have the mod taken down after they had already made a bunch of money from people buying the game just to play the mod. However there were people who still had access to the mod's files after the project got taken down, and they anonymously leaked them to the public and fans found ways of playing the mod anyways

@@MeadeJ67 That's what I don't get. People reveal their projects when they aren't ready yet, only for them to get shut down anyway when it has happened so many times in the past already. Dropping it outright would make it impossible for T2 to contain it if everybody has already downloaded it.

A lot of mods have that problem in general which I think is called bloat that people need to stop doing. I think it's less common nowadays but it was bad in the old Elder Scrolls days. Like there would be a mod to adjust XP rates and then the modder includes a change to an attribute or skill with it. That's bad!! Only mod the one thing!

@@aninternetnpc7759 Regarding the company and hipocrisy, yes in a matter of sense. Rockstar as a capitalist company produces a product to be consumed as such by consumers. It only pokes fun at america and does parody etc as long as it suits the product and sales. Rockstar itself does not want to be tested outside of the product on any message in the game. Already, I see grifters and bots deeming GTA6 bad, DEI, woke, political etc. I believe the political and internet climate changed and sees any game being meta as a kinf of danger.

I mean, did any of you really expect Rockstar to not C&D this one? And I don't even know why you're outraged, you'll forget about this as soon as the second GTA 6 trailer drops, exactly the same way you forgot all about the other fan projects they shut down prior to the first GTA 6 trailer. Sucks this got taken down it just shows rockstar has gone from a great video game dev with the gta series to being big greedy corporates that spend 10 years ignoring hackers in online but take down a singleplayer harmless mod in 2 weeks of its release after a 6 year wip, I can positively say it was the best mod in terms of maps and immersion ever introduced to gta V glad I managed to get a copy but I hope it won’t get ruined by updates…
