International entspricht das 20,- Dollar Goldstück,4 x Britische 1 Pfund Sterling Goldmünzen,oder 4 x 20,- Reichsmark Goldstücke des Deutschen Kaiserreichs, wovon eine einem Wochenlohn eines Arbeiters entspricht.

Good information. The 1904 does look much better than 61. Why did the treasury set the gold weight at 0.9675 oz?

Thanks for the comment. At the time gold was valued at $20 an ounce. The difference is profit for the treasury. At least, that is my understanding of the situation. Thanks again!

I just double checked and mine is a 1905S. Not graded but I love it and bought from a repeatable dealer that belongs to my local coin club here in North West Arkansas. Now I do have an 2014 Eagle $10 graded NCG graded MS70. Thanks for sharing your gold .

Wonderful population report review on the liberty head gold double eagle! Beautiful coins indeed. I will say if I had to choose I'd prefer the St. Gauden's over the liberty head. Both are great coins though. I will have to do a review of my gold collection in the future. Thanks for sharing!

I have one back to 1907 . When i searched i found that it is very rare and there are few of it . One of them was sold for 20 million $ ! Do you think that is true ? How can i get benefit from it ?

Very interesting facts about the ratio of survivers. I expect that every time that gold price peaks more of those 1904s finish up in the melting pot.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t know the 1904 made up a third of all surviving lib double eagles, I just got a ms64+ 1904 maybe I should have looked for a better date! Your 61 looks beautiful to me I was guessing it was. 64 before you mentioned it, maybe worth getting a second opinion on.

Double eagles have about $2,500 worth of gold in them at today's market prices. I don't know where you are located, but I would seek out a precious metal dealer. They can sometimes be found at major coin shows. Good luck with the coin.
