Exsultate, Jubilate, K. 165, is a motet composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1773. Although it is technically classified as a motet, many consider this piece a “concerto for voice” due to its virtuosic nature and the prominent role of the soprano soloist accompanied by orchestra.
The work consists of four movements:
1. Exsultate, Jubilate - Allegro
2. Recitativo: Fulget amica dies
3. Tu virginum corona - Andante
4. Alleluia - Molto allegro
This video features the first movement, Exsultate, Jubilate, which opens with a brilliant Allegro, reflecting the joyful character that defines this piece.
