Sheikh, your regular audiences are those who want to see Academic lectures like this!! Do not be confused.. the khutbah in the masaajid that even you give are just the same as many other's... But the lectures that you cover academically is what your loyal audiences tune in for. Yes, I am paying deep attention and I need your other researches to be published too, please.

As someone who was caught up in the Salafi/Madkhali movement a few years back during my early times of trying to find the 'correct' version of Islam; I was indoctrinated by the teachings of this book. The extreme harshness was constantly justified and the 'Ahlul Bid'ah' were painted out to be the most evil of creatures. (I find this very similar to the propaganda of the Nazis against the Jews in the way they dehumanised them). Alhamdulillah this video was beneficial and these facts need to be spread far and wide.

@@AbdulKhader-786 Most of his videos these days are on contemporary issues in the west, which necessarily go in to political topics. I suspect what you’re actually looking for a refutation of Muslim Brotherhood, Qutubis, Suroori, etc etc etc etc etc etc... The reason he doesn’t do that is because he is a scholar, unless Salafi Publications.

Madkhalis are lost, but if you really think the early salaf were more like Yasir Qadhi than Imam al Barbahari in terms of "harshness' toward ahlut bid'ah and even sinners, you are living in delusion. The salaf used to beat drunkards with shoes.. now let's see what other scholars have to say about ahlut bid'ah: Ibn Abdul-Barr Al-Māliki (rahimahullāh, d. 390H) quoted the saying of Imām Mālik: “It is not permitted to accept the witness of Ahlul-Bid’ah and Ahlul-Ahwā.” Then he explained: “The people of desires according to Mālik and all of our companions are Ahlul-Kalām (the people of theological rhetoric). So every mutakallim (one who resorts to theological rhetoric) is from the people of desires and Bid’ah whether he is an Ash’ari or other than an Ash’ari. His witness is never accepted in Islam. He is to be abandoned and disciplined for his innovation. And if he continues upon innovation, his repentance is sought [by those in authority].” (Jāmi’ Bayān Al-‘Ilm wa Fadlihi, 2/96) Al-Imām Al-Harawi stated in his book, Dhamm Al-Kalām (the Dispraise of Theological Rhetoric): I heard Ahmad Ibn Nasr Al-Mālīni (d. 412H) saying: “I entered the ‘Amr Ibn Al-‘Ās Congregational Mosque in Egypt with a group of my companions. Once we had sat down, a shaikh came along and said: ‘You are from the people of Khurasān and you are Ahlus-Sunnah and this is the place of the Ash’ariyyah so get up [and leave from here].'” So this shaikh advised them to leave this place that is known for the innovations of the Ash’ariyyah." Abdul-Barr stated: “The people of desires according to Mālik (d. 179H) and all of our companions are Ahlul-Kalām (the people of theological rhetoric). So every person of theological rhetoric (mutakallim) is from the people of desires and innovation regardless of whether he is an Ash’ari or other than an Ash’ari. His witness is never accepted in Islam. He is to be abandoned (boycotted) and disciplined for his innovation.” And Yahyā Ibn Abī Kathīr (rahimahullāh) said: “If you meet a person of bid’ah on the path, take another path.” (Ash-Sharī’ah of Al-Ājurri, 64).

@@AbdulKhader-786 Because a person of knowledge understands that a minute explaining the sunnah is better than a lifetime refuting innovation. You benefit people by focusing on the good and building Islam up, not tearing other people down. This is why after 25 years Spubs has achieved nothing beyond discord and division and enmity. After all this time, decades of “the brothers” insulting, “exposing” and warning against him has he finally spoken about this issue. And then, he does not insult and mock, but educates as to the origin of the issue and the impact it has had, for the mutual benefit. This is what a shaykh looks like bro, not some foul mouthed jahil from Spubs. Bro when I was 18 year old boy and got involved in Spubs I wanted black & white clarity, everyone else was wrong apart from “me and the brothers” and only my scholars could be trusted with fact & truth. That’s why I was obsessed with other sects and their falsehood, because it validated that I was saved and “the brothers” on Haqq. Ironically I went round telling everyone “don’t make your Deen about an individual”, but I was obsessed with mistakes because I wanted to find someone so pure I could base my entire religion around them lol! Then I became a 35 year old man and realised that Islam has a history, things are way more complicated than they appear and Islam has to be translated by fallible people in opaque circumstances, which means that people differ & err. Anyway, I hope you realise that scholars do not speak like Spubs and they don’t have the attitude towards differences and other Muslims like those juhaal. Allah protect you and me inshallah.

Sharh us-Sunnah of Imam Al-barbahaaree (d. 329H) is contained in Tabaqaat al-Hanaabilah of Abu Ya’laa (2/18), and exists in manuscript form in al-Maktabah adh-Dhaahiriyyah in Damascus in the writing of the Imaam, Abu al-Qaasim Ubayd Allaah bin Hamza (d. 550H), and it has been ascribed to Al-barbahaaree by Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah in “Bughyat ul-Murtaad“, adh-Dhahabi in “al-Uluww” and “Taareekh ul-Islaam“, and “Siyar“, also by Ibn Muflih in “al-Furoo” and “al-Aadaab ash-Sharee’ah“, and also by as-Safadee in “al-Waafee bil-Wafayaat“, and by Ibn Hajar in “Fath al-Baaree“, and by Ibn al-Imaad in “Shadharaat adh-Dhahab”

Rats, I watched the lecture, but what was the second point again?
@SiratAlMustaqeem
@SiratAlMustaqeem 4 жыл бұрын
@@ozodbek_sk @Ozodbek Botiraliev Point number 1 was : The only original Manuscript of Sharh As Sunnah in Museum has on it's front page the name of the author with isnaad which is Ghulaam Khaleel.. The only issue one gets with this isnaad is that the second person in this isnaad is 15 years old. Point number 2 was: Tabaqat ibn Abi Ya'ala mentions ibn Abi Ya'ala heard from Hassan Al Ahwaazi that Imam Al Barbahaari said in Sharh As Sunnah 'such & such'.. This Al Ahwaazi is categorized liar by many later scholars including Khateeb Al Baghdadi. Adh Dhahabi calls him "someone who picks things and ascribes to people". More important thing about point number 2 is.. that ibn Taymiyyah and others when say Al Barbahari's Sharh As Sunnah, they are quoting Tabaqat ibn Abu Ya'ala... because they say the exact same phrase written in Tabaqat ibn Abi Ya'ala. So the idea that Barbahaari (Raheemahullah) wrote Sharh As Sunnah is derieved from this Tabaqat ibn Abi Ya'ala and this is related from Ahwaazi who isn't categorized trustworthy by Adh Dhahabi (a student of Ibn Taymiyyah himself)... While the original Manuscript says it is written by Ghulaam Khaleel.. I think this much is a case shut itself.

I even took the pictures and I'm doing my own personal study of this research here.

Salaam 'Alaikum. Dr. Yasir, I'm one of your critics, however, this work you've done here is one of the most beneficial things you've put out. IMO, this is your niche and you should stick with it. Your historical series is the best I've seen in any language, and this work here is long overdue. When you mentioned that there's a "certain demographic" that this book appeals to, you didn't want to say who it was out of respect. But I'm not afraid to say it because I'm directly from that demographic, and that is Black converts. I've been saying this long before this book being exposed as a false attribution to Barbaharee. It has absolutely been weaponized against the Black community and as a result Black converts have been directed to mass ignorance. It's exactly the same tactic that Christians did with slaves by forcing them to believe a few things about obeying your master and what not. There's really no difference. So the fact that this book was published in English when it was and it coincides with the downfall of the dawah all makes a crystal clear picture with me. If I had known about all of this you've exposed when I made this comparison, it would have even made those arguments even stronger. Here's one of the video's I did making this comparison kzbin.info/www/bejne/gX6bcpqXfrNkias . Even though I'm critical of you, you've spoken the truth. I don't allow the truth to be obscured by the one telling it. A lot of people hate me as well because I was a deep insider in the cult and have made devastating videos exposing them. I wish you had done this video years ago, but qadr Allah. Thanks for this. Please continue with these historical pieces, so people can get context into why they believe the things they do, barak Allahu feek.

One of my fav YQ lectures, because it is so academic, well researched and seems to correct a popular misrepresentation of our deen by a modern sub-strand of a relatively recent movement. This lecture is really a tour de force the opponents of which, I believe, cannot muster the evidence to respond; at most, they can only continue to use talking points and some will, sadly, use ad hominem attacks. But Allah is on the side of truth. May Allah guide us all.

Bismillah. Honorable Shaikh Yasir, you are certainly rocking the boat with this one, but it is needed if the boat is headed for an iceberg. You are a brave teacher and we ask that Allah protect you. It’s a bitter pill to swallow but truth has more right to be said. It is clear from your lecture that this is your specialization. May Allah accept your balanced approach. This is certainly what we need as a Ummah, moderation in times of both extremism and laxity. I like how you did not mention the names of modern day personalities as this may lead to egos being affected. I also like the way that you offer criticism without using harsh words which would open the door for shaitan to prevent your words from benefiting. ‏فقولا له قولا لينا ‏لعله يتذكر او يخشى I also like how you brought the branches of Islam back to its roots. How often do we lose the forest for the trees. It seems to me this is the pitfall of every student of knowledge and also the Achilles’ heel that the enemies of Islam exploit. Imam Shatibi says, if the fruits become too heavy they break the branches. It would be great to listen to a lecture from you on orientalism and the modernist agenda. May Allah guide our Ummah. May Allah protect you and all our scholars Ameen.

My Sheikh , your Videos are so BENEFICIAL. They make people think outside the box especially when it comes to THE VENERATION of people as far as the RELIGIOUS MATTERS are Concerned. The only two Sources that we have to stick to firmly and NEVER Challenge or Doubt are The Book Of Allah i.e. Al Qur’an and The Sunnah i.e. Al Ahadiths .

Some scholars more recently have raised a few contentions concerning the attribution of the book to al-Barbahārī, suggesting that Sharḥ al-Sunna was actually penned by the controversial preacher Ghulām Khalīl (d. 275/888). This new thesis has been adopted by some Muslim thinkers and scholars as well. However, this claim should be treated with skepticism. There is sufficient epistemic warrant to assume that the work is al-Barbahārī’s. Firstly, the famous maxim states that the widespread attribution of a given book to a certain figure provides sufficient confidence to presume their authorship of it and fulfills the place of the chain of attribution (al-shuhra tughnī ʿan al-isnād). At least a dozen scholars have attributed this book to al-Barbahārī. Secondly, in his Ṭabaqāt, Ibn Abū Yaʿlā not only cited the entire treatise in full, but his reproduction contains a few conspicuous additions, indicating that he may have had access to another manuscript of the work that was attributed to al-Barbahārī. Thirdly, some critics contend that Sharḥ al-Sunna was hardly cited or referred to by later theologians of the Ḥanbalī school, which makes its misattribution a likely possibility. Such a view, however, fails to account for the book’s indirect influence in the Ḥanbalī theological front during its formative period. For instance, al-Radādī notes strong literary and content-based parallels between Sharḥ al-Sunna and the highly touted text al-Ibāna ʿan Uṣūl al-Diyāna (colloquially known as al-Ibāna al-Ṣughrā), which was penned by Ibn Baṭṭa al-ʿUkbarī (d. 387/997), a student of al-Barbahārī. Indeed, Ibn Baṭṭa is known to have adopted the content and mode of expression for some unique legal positions that were held by his teacher, which are found in Sharḥ al-Sunna as well (such as the view that a person who misses a prayer intentionally can never make it up by performing it after its time). These aforementioned facts put the proponents of the Ghulām Khalīl authorship thesis in an uncomfortable position, since it leads to the absurd suggestion that a Ḥanbalī authority like Ibn Baṭṭa composed his theological and legal views by relying on the words of a bygone and dubious preacher like Ghulām Khalīl. The far more intuitive conclusion is that Ibn Baṭṭa knew and recognized the book to be the composition of his teacher, and as such relied on it with confidence. Taking these principles and textual indicators into account, one can make a strong case for attributing Sharḥ al-Sunna to al-Barbahārī. See the foreword of al-Radādī’s edition of Sharḥ al-Sunna, ed. Khālid ibn Qāsim al-Radādī (Madina: Maktaba al-Ghurubā’ al-Athariyya, 1993), 38-39.
