That was a natural gas storage tank . It's in Allentown Pennsylvania I live 2 miles from that storage tank I was there when they blew it up

Amazing when you think how long they took to build. I am involved the electricity industry and we are demolishing all our coal fired power stations here in the UK. The one at 07.10 in this video is one of them and I used to live close to it. The last coal fired power station in the UK in operation closed on 30 September 2024 after nearly 55 years and they ran the turbines pouring the coal into the boilers until the last second. They are as old as I am and it's a bittersweet feeling as I come to end of my career seeing them fall one by one. They will drop the last one as I retire but a few people are thinking we should retain a few of the cooling towers as a monument to our industrial heritage. I agree.

No? The towers had 2 failure points due to the open style structure. The towers came down due to the floors sagging, the walls followed the floors inward and gave way. That’s why you see the walls fall inward in south tower collapse videos.

The energy needed to lean over to the ground was zero to none on that day. The south tower began to lean during the collapse, therefore it was moving too fast for it to stop and lean over. And the towers came down with some valid reasons.
