Well, its because it does sound like this, or like that. But, being compared to other songs or bands doesnt diminish it if you like. It's still good. But if someone doesnt like it based on any comparisons, well that just shows how stupid they are if you think about it "Hey this sounds like another band that I like so I dont like it"

@@jaymccarthy6535 To say one is better than the other...well, that's purely based on ones own subjective taste. This is pretty basic stuff. But at the same time, so is puppets to a certain extent, but Metallica are...WERE better song writers back then lyrically and musically. Lick king is great. But their music here is far more basic. There re hundreds of modern thrash bands with that same sound. I mean...there is...maybe 4 changes in this track, and they keep the same tone...which isn't bad at all. It's pretty kick ass. While the puppets track has...7 changes? Again, its subjective, but this lich king song doesnt prove your opinion. It weakens it. Than again...Anthony Hopkins loves it lol

Since you are only 47 I'll take that with a grain of salt. In 1983, when it mattered, you were 10 years old. 10 years later when you were 20 it was 1993, and the great wave of metal had already come and gone. An opinion on metal, from anybody under 55 (in 2021)(and that's stretching it) doesn't really matter, BECAUSE you weren't there when it happened. Sorry you missed it.

Honestly, this is the best way to describe the Agnostic faith. Who are we to really know what lies beyond death or whether there is a god or not? Religious folk have no way of proving whether what is in their holy texts is true or not, and atheists have no way of proving that there is no god just because they haven't seen any evidence of a god, and only a dead person can tell what lies beyond death, yet dead folk only speak silence. Best we just worry about life and go based by the facts that we do know and come up with. Religion is suppose to give people faith, not scare them into becoming sheep, and science is suppose to find answers for what we do know, not assume what is what for the things which we do not know or understand.

Agnosticism is essentially an outdated term. There are many atheist who are convinced that there is no god, but the default atheist position is to be without a god you worship. Hence the term atheist, which mean anti-theist. The term agnostic arose in the 80’s and 90’s during the satanic panic because most people believed that to be a atheist is to be a nihilist that sees no point in morality and is throughly convinced their is nothing beyond our world. Atheist, agnostic, In the end in Dose’t really matter what we call ourselves, we aren’t like the religious who fight over denominations of their faith.

I'm an older metalhead and was recommended this album by a young man in my local shop. I can be a bit sceptical of modern metal (or what passes for it in some cases), but this track stuck out to me even on a first listen and is rather excellent. Not over the top in terms of complexity or trying too hard, it has that old-school epic quality; well written, atmospheric, tight, and overall just beautifully rounded. Good metal!

Solo is genius! On first listen one could think its just some blender solo, with repeating licks and stuff. But actually every note makes sense exactly how it is and is so on point, with such brilliant tone that it makes a masterpiece out of it. One can hear every single note clearly and it couldnt be at any better point on the fretboard. Not sure how to express what i feel when listening to this. Sometimes I listen to it over and over and over and over, since years, when i feel like it.
