Lichen planus is a skin condition that causes itchy, purplish, flat-topped bumps on the skin or in the mouth. It can also affect the nails and scalp. The exact cause is unknown, but it's thought to be related to the immune system. Treatment may include topical or oral medications to reduce itching and inflammation.

I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and neither specialist I see for this autoimmune disease have explained the bumps on the top of my feet! This doctor is very well educated and is great about sharing his knowledge with his patients!

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis a few weeks ago. And this is all new to me. I was in so much pain i couldn't raise my arms. High dose of prednisone has helped for short term. I hope you have more videos about autoimmune issues. God bless 🙏 💛💛 You're the best Doc. ❤

I've had Lichen Planus since I was 13 (which is apparently odd for a male) and I'm turning 45 this week. No issues with my toenails like in this video. I was diagnosed with Chronic Myleod Leukaemia when I was 40 - which I was told makes you more prone to Lichen Planus. I'm thinking perhaps they go hand in hand and may be an indicator for each other.

I had a toe fracture and it was also dislocated so I had to go to a Ortho. I noticed his notes said my toenails were nicely trimmed, that I had no nail fungus, and had no foot problems at all, except for my toe. I thought it strange that he mentioned all of that until I saw these videos. Truly I had no idea all these foot problems that patients can have. Thankfully I never had any of these foot problems and didn't even know they existed. I've lived a charmed life, I guess.

This lady should ask her doctor if it may possible she has MCTD. I have the same lesions on my legs too, it itches so bad that I can't sleep good from scratching. And I also have RA as well. I've been seeing my rheumatologist for years before getting diagnosed with MCTD (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease) aka Overlap Disease. It's a systemic disease affecting the entire body. In my case, I'm considered "undifferentiated" because we don't know which disease is the more prominent one. Aside from all the ointments for my skin, I have drops for my eyes, magic mouthwash, pain meds & sleep aids, and an immune suppressant.

I got it from contrast dye I got mine to heal using coco butter, the discoloration is still there I'm trying different creams to see if I can fade the discolored areas.

I am not very knowledgeable about toe nails but soaking the feet in warm water with some foot soak salts would make cutting those nails so much easier. I wonder why you don’t do that. I like your videos. You are very informative and so kind!!

Oh God bless her. Lichen Planus can be extremely painful. I know a couple of women who have it in the mouth, and another one has Lichen Planus of her privates.

@@jojo1216I have a wonderful dermatologist. I use a steroid ointment when it flares. And the maint dose twice a week. I was diagnosed in ‘87. My biggest fear is that it can turn in to cancer. Thank you for your prayers .

I find it hard and painful to cut my toenails because of all the skin underneath,so i tend to let them grow out and cut them just before the skin.. Why do some people have alot of skin and how do you prevent or treat that..?

Try cutting your nails after bathing/showering when they're softer. Also, try not to cut too close to the skin. That's your natural cut-off point.

Dr for what reason do you not moisturise between the toes?? I have tyoe 1 diabetes and my fwet are partially numb. I take Lyrica 25mg three times daily for the burning searing pain in my feet. I moisturise with CeravE twice a day but when I rub my toes together it feels like there is sand between my toes. What is this?? Thanking you in advance. Respect. 🎼
