Lidl Parkside Cordless SDS Hammer drill PABH 20-Li B2 Quick Review

Another great value Lidl product - I know I paid a lot more than that for my cordless SDS drill (even taking into account mine came with batteries and charger). The cordless one is much more handy for most jobs - I only dig out the big corded one for the heaviest work. Great video.

Many thanks Tim. It certainly is great value if you already have the batteries and charger which is why sticking to one system makes sense. That said, it does show how much of a beast the corded ones are.

@@BensWorkshop Yeah, for ultimate power you can't beat the corded ones - I used my biggest corded one in chisel mode to dig out a large channel in a concrete floor to run beer lines and other soft drinks lines - it was still quite a task but I got it done in the end.

@@BensWorkshop I did think about using my big angle grinder but the venue I was working in was actually open at the time, with people coming to the box office to buy tickets - I was making enough noise as it was but if I'd filled the place with dust as well I might have been a tad unpopular!!!!

Love this drill, it eats concrete, feels like it has a proper hammer mechanism built-in to it. Really useful set of bits with it too.

When it comes to strong tools I prefer a hammer drill or grinder to have a cord for more power.Great video.

Wish Lidls batteries and range was 40V capable too like Aldis are, would make these cordless high power tools much closer to the corded ones. But overall Lidls cordless tool range wins because theres such a larger selection avaliable.

Hey, could you please let me know what is the weight of the drill with and without the battery but mostly interested in bare tool if you cannot be bothered with both. Have you built a preference for one or the other when reaching for rotary?

The unit, bare, as supplied in the box, weighs 2.744 KG (6lb & 3/4 oz.) The bare unit out of the box is 1.285 KG (2lb and 13 1/4 oz) a 4AH battery (recommended) weighs 694 grams (1lb, 8 1/2oz) A 2AH battery weighs 420 grams (14 3/4ox) The standard charger (only type I have) weighs 369 grams, (13oz) I hope that helps.

@@sebna it still gets used, when I need it. As for which I choose it would depend on how many holes I need to drill, how wide and deep.

@@BensWorkshop I got mine today from Lidl but I am wondering if it is not faulty. I did not have a chance to drill with it yet but when I spun it with just a SDS bit in it the hammering seems to be really transferring to hand and the body of the drill. Like all the hammering force would be going the opposite direction rather than to drill tip if you get me. I have two other SDS drills at home and they are not transferring hamming action so much to hand. When I hold it in the air and squeeze the trigger gently enough just to get few slow revolutions from the drill it fills almost like my hand is moving back and forth because of feedback from hammer action. Is yours the same? I am wondering if mine is ok :D as it feels differently to my 1.6J Einhell and 3.2J Hikoki. Thanks

Thanks for the review. Was going to purchase this but would not go near it after this review. Wouldn't be fit for anything other than 5.5mm holes imo

I drilled 16 mm holes with it without problems and lent it to someone who also drilled 16 mm holes, but you do you.
