Yes, they do, and it cuts thicker material. Note though that you will need a seperate cable and/or extension for the compressor probably as you will draw more than 13 amps. Thank you for watching, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe!

Great video . What size compressor would you need and what make
@BensWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Not sure I can give a best recommendation as I borrowed one with a fault. I am fairly certain that the Lidl Parkside 24 litre one will do, as I know someone who has that combination. As I want to use air tools I am waiting for the 50 litre one. Hope that helps. Please like and share, and if you like the channel, subscribe!

it looks good be ideal for working on car body work. do you think with a bigger compressor you can cut thicker metal? its a good review many thanks.
@BensWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
The thickest it says you could cut is 9mm steel. I think you may get up to half inch but you would need a lot of patience. I suspect a bit of practice and a compressor without a leak from its regulator would work better. As for car body work I'd probably prefer a nibbler, review due shortly. There's a hitch with the nibbler video, my current compressor isn't up to the job of driving it so that review will have to wait until Lidl have their large compressor in stock.

@BensWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
It is.... But alas Lidl don't operate in the USA so I suspect that you'll pay more than $110 which would be the equivalent price. You also need a decent compressor as well.
@GrumpyTim4 жыл бұрын
Excellent, that worked really well - sure it's not a full on pro machine but at that price it's great. I had a look in my local Lidl but they'd sold out - saves the temptation anyway!!!!!

The next cheapest I could find was £160, so it is an absolute bargain.
@pollyaloy4 жыл бұрын
I've worked with plasma cutters that cost upwards of ten grand . It's only worth buying a machine that cost a lot if your getting paid for the work and you can make the money back. Look how much he paid for the consumables 9.99 . If that were a machine like a hypertherm it would cos upwards of £130 for consumables . This little machine is great for the hobbyist and and it's cheap to run The 3 year warranty is fantastic Some cheeky eBay sellers are selling these for £180 . They bought them all for profit . No wonder you couldn't get one . He did great in this video . Progress.

Many thanks! The people profiteering like that on eBay are like ticket touts. Irritating. When I suspect something I want will sell out quick I turn up very early. Too often I have left it till my lunch break and they have sold out.

@@BensWorkshop I got to lidle at 10 minutes past opening time and there was only one available so I pounced on it .once it was in my trolley I pushed it with pride all the way to the till only stopping for some beer 🍺 On eBay you can a 210 piece consumables kit sometimes for 20 or 30 pound but they come from China so a 2 or three weeks wait is needed .

Yes, mine was one of two available. Not everything sells that way, but I was early for the track saw too which is also great value and sells very quickly. (There is an issue with getting the blade off but I have done a video on that). There are all sorts of consumable deals for that size of plasma cutter. Cutting metal with plasma in a wood shed full of wood scrap ... Pretty epic! 😁
@BensWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
A friend of mine used to live in a timber framed forge, which never caught light either. That was built in the 13th century. Wood doesn't burn easily, which is why fires need starting, with things like kindling and tinder. All that sort of material is cleared up shortly after it gets on the concrete floor.

I'm between the lidl metal bandsaw and the plasma. What is better value?
@BensWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
Tricky question to answer. The bandsaw will but bar, the plasma cutter will not. The plama cutter can cut long distances, but you will need to clean the edges. You also need a compressor which you don't with the bandsaw. However, I find it quite hard to get straight cuts with the bandsaw and the internal light failed too. Hope that helps. You are the first person to notice the wooden table, but no, if you think wood is that flammable, I have a bridge to sell you, it isn't. However wood shavings from planes are and I do sweep those up. The floor is made of concrete. I also weld and solder in there too. The soldering torches I have put out a lot more heat than either a plasma cutter or a welder. (The fire brick is primarily for soldering)
