3 Porcaro brothers playing together with Boz! Incredible…

I never knew Jeff was on the drums until I saw this. Of course the entire Porcaro family were musical greats. I've been singing some Karaoke for quite a while and I get several request for this song. People are always surprised I'm not in a band but, my talent is singing not entertaining. I love it.

Lido missed the boat that day, he left the shack But that was all he missed, and he ain't comin' back Them two opening lines were perfect for setting the story to this song. That shuffle by the drummer will get you moving if you have a heartbeat. Perfect for the song. The lyrics will take you on a trip. This album by Boz and Jackson Browne’s Runnin on Empty were my go to albums while in HS. Dreamed of life beyond Oklahoma and when the time came I never looked back. Thanks for posting this live version TMS. Made my Friday morning.

The biggest surprise for me was seeing Les Dudek on the Les Paul. Not only did Boz produce the subsequent Toto debut album, he also produced Les’ first album that showcased his incredible writing and guitar skills and yes, the same Porcaro crew backed Les as well. “Old Judge Jones” was a minor hit and got lots of AOR station airplay. It has an incredible lyric and is an incredibly well crafted tune.

Wow. If I had to pick the single song in my life that means the most to me it would be Lido Shuffle. Memories of 2 glorious summers in 1976 and 1977 while at 6th form. I remember the last day of our final term, after we had finished our exams, a group of us were in a pub (in the UK). In those days if you wanted music you had to put money into a jukebox so we piled a load of money into the jukebox to queue up some songs to get the mood going. What was the first song we selected? Lido Shuffle. Unfortunately for everyone else in the pub that evening it was also the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth song as well. We were not popular with the rest of the clientele that night. If anyone was in a pub in a beautiful city in northern England one June night in 1977 when a bunch of rowdy schoolboys were dancing around to Lido Shuffle played 6 times in a row, I’m older and more considerate now so …. sorry …. but surely you have to admit that Boz is as good as it gets.
