I call them Tim Mee Toys but they were originally Lido Brand. Over the years they were produced by several different companies.

These figures would paint up well, and the advantage of doing so would be that if you just painted the weapons and webbing or boots and flesh on face and hands they would look great. However if you wanted to paint everything then that would be cool to. As they are all fairly the same in uniform you could quickly line them up and paint them factory style. For example do all boots first, then trousers (pants) webbing, jackets, weapons, flesh etc.

Great video. Springfield and Garand were sniper rifle. Later Winchester model 70 and M14.

There WERE Garand snipers, but not many. The Springfield was more common.

I still have my soldiers that look like your tim mee. Not sure if they are Liddo, tim mee or knock offs . They are from the mid 70s. They always worked good in the sand pile.

There is supposed to be a shop a few miles from my parents home that sells soldiers, I can't remember what the village is called but a key worker at my school told me about it. I want to go there some time.

@@carausiuscaesar5672 That's so nice to hear, I grew up in the 90's and early 00's and I have some great memories. My sister had her friends round when I was,12 and we had a bit pretend gun battle with cap guns. One of my happier memories. My life took a dark turn when I was 13! I've had many years of unhappiness since unfortunately!

Your one soldier with the different sub machine gun might be an attempt to replicate the Reising M-50 .45 cal SMG used by the USN and USMC during WW II

It does resemble that , but the magazine is too far forward! I never heard of an M-50 before so you have helped myself and others who may have not heard of one learn a fun cool fact!😊

@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 Not a toy soldier collector however I do 1/35 scale soldiers. When I was a child in the 1960's we had these toy soldiers. I do not remember the brand but they seemed to have better detail then some of the newer ones. They came in a hard plastic case that was clear on the top and yellow on the bottom. Wish I could remember the brand name.
@Skaramine

It could possibly be a PPsH. That one has a far forward magazine. But it would be an unusual choice but WWII accurate for a Soviet soldier.

When I was a kid I had Lido infantrymen that I got for Christmas. Years later I found a package of Tootsie Toys soldiers that were the same and I was delighted to find them again. These BMC are nice to have . I wonder if they will remake the Lido Civil War soldiers? I had those as a kid too!

@@iggystoyparadesoldierrevie1092 I would buy them if they do. I have spent several years randomly buying the new BMC/Tim Mee stuff, even the dinos and cave men, and am never disappointed and they don't stink like some originals I've gotten from eBay. I only have Hing Fat Civil War playset and some nice AiP CW soldiers.
