Lie-Nielsen Router Plane // Set Up, Use & First Impressions

Beginner router plane set up. I am setting up my router plane for the first time. I have never used a router plane before so watch me unbox the Lie-Nielsen no. 71 closed throat router plane, set it up and use it for the first time in my life!

Ironically, my best take from this video was not really about the router but rather the use of the non-slip mat which I have owned for over 20 years but never associated with hand tool work holding rather than hand held power routing. Funny when you have to confront your personal “blind spots”………to think I would have set up a more complicated work hold to do same task makes me question my intelligence which is a good thing…..😂

Corrosion refers to non-ferrous metals, like brass. Ferrous metals, like iron or steel, don’t corrode, they rust.

Did you use the adapter with small blades , i already purchased wanna know the correct way to use them?????!

I did not buy the adaptor that allows you to use the small router plane blades in the large router plane. I am not familiar with them. Thanks for watching my video.
