I almost forgot to breathe when I heard this the first time. It's so lovely. Adam Chance is such a great storyteller. The lyrics can mean many things. It's a powerful vocal performance and Sami did an amazing job with the editing!

Been listening to this song for days but this is the first time seeing the video. Absolutely love the song and now the video. I have always loved his voice and it just keeps getting to me more and more. Pure talent.

His voice is amazing and sultry with that rich tone and butter and rasp. Love it! The song is phenomenal and extremely well-written and sung. I love his solo style. It leans to Folk style, but I was so happy and giddy to see him play the electric guitar in this one. I never thought about it until another reactors said it reminded them a little of Bruce Springstein’s style. That was a pretty good analogy/comparison. I would think Chance would feel honored to hear that. I am so looking forward to seeing what other songs will be released for his future album. Love how you got goosebumps right at the beginning of the video.

This song is part of a trilogy, of sorts. First part w/Street Corner Symphony is Southern Autumn Nostalgia. Next part is Song For Home and now Ancient History. All written by Chance. His storytelling is amazing! Thank you for following his work. Love the use of the ebow in the guitar solo. Thoughtful reaction.

Chance is the quintessential singer songwriter. His voice is so smokey and soothing, his songs are profound and epic and Sami’s skills are amazing. I just love his solo work and look forward to his debut solo album.

Love your more introspective reactions. First time hearing this, didn't grasp the purpose of the intro (found it offputting) to where I almost didn't stick with it. Glad I did. A haunting anthem. While it feels very private (think of Chance as being such), could also envision him performing this in front of a large crowd and everyone singing along. The feeling that would generate, everyone's own perception of their personal 'ancient history.' Chance's voice can definitely be mesmerizing. Looking forward to your reaction to the new HF video with Bastien. 😊

Loved your insights on this beautiful song---so true. I have a rocker that has been in our family 125 years. When I look at it, I can see my grandmother as an infant being rocked by her mother (although I never met either of them); then I see my mother rocking my siblings and me, and me rocking my infant sons, then my grandchildren there in my arms. It's all ancient history and my life today all held together in one object. Adam Chance is phenomenal at getting to the heart of things. Gail L.

Thank you for always reacting to Chance’s music. He creates such a beautiful “mood” with his songs, and his voice melts my heart. He deserves the exposure; I wish he had more support than he gets. I, for one, will continue to request for reactors to do his solo work and his HF leads- and rewatch his videos to drive up his views. I anxiously await his solo album.
