I agree for phase 3 other than the cube. The cube is absolutely amazing especially if you increase the uses and how fast you can use it. Winning in a boss fight can be the difference of have 1 or 2 extra heals. I’ve had that cube save me in quite a few boss fights.

Personally I disagree, having an adhd brain that can't focus on more than 2 things at a time (Being to block the next attack and get perplexed how I didn't block it), having to then swap to a different form of abilities for a random buff that costs currency (I am also a hoarder in games, have I ever used a throwable, no outside of that one sidequest that wants you to. Have I ever sold a throwable? No because I may use them someday)... I'd much rather throw myself against a wall until I ungabunga to get the job done xD Am glad you're enjoying it tho, was personally sad when most of the end game p-organ stuff was catered towards it and had to backtrack for updoots, but I hope you didn't feel the same way in that regard :) Hope you're having fun with the game btw!!! (I know this comment is unnecessary, but I just wanted to reply)

@@destinystriumph1573 lol I used to be the same way with items. I used to horde them because I’m always afraid I’ll use them up before a time when I need them most. Then I tried using them and they just just help so much and the fact that you can just restock on them so easily by going to the merchant in the Malik District, I wasn’t afraid to use them anymore. I am certainly enjoying the game very much. I’m currently in NG+++ and man it is pretty hard lol. I’m just trying to go through and get all my achievements done.

@@YureiOni Yeah Lies of P is obviously designed to take advantage by using throwables and similar, they give you the opportunity from the early game, i mean infinite throwables from the chapter 5 onwards, plus, the currency needed to use the cube and specter is literally growing by itself, another "infinite" resource :D

Cube is ace for Specter heals and defence on. Bosses.

The main focus for a build I like is purposely avoiding getting more pulse cells, instead opting for recharging them. And then I added all the dmg/stagger when pulse cells are discharged perks. Just use your heals very leniently, you’ll get a decent chunk of extra damage when you don’t have any and if you do need more pulse cells they won’t be far off because of the enhanced charge from attacks recharging over time perks.

Ng+ even gives more phases. One of them is guard fury attacks. Meaning you can regular block fury attacks

I understand you seem to avoid using a specter based on your lack of Cube usage… however for those of us who do not mind using a specter for the harder boss fights….whether it’s after you’ve fought awhile and just eventually decide you want the help…. The multiple cube uses are what make Specters viable for the double health bar bosses. Almost all double health bosses will destroy a specter before or shortly after starting phase 2. Having the extra cube use to top off their health and the quick cube use single quarts upgrade to easily squeeze it in between attacks from a fast boss is a worthwhile investment. Whether it’s just for the boss fight and after you respec those quarts into others options or permanently….. either way don’t sleep on the handful of Cube related P-Organ upgrades. They can make a big difference for people really struggling.

Id replace all the ergo bonuses with other things. The increase is nice but if youre really hurting for levels id say that a single run through the previous area you just beat more than makes up for the lost ergo bonuses, and the buffs you get in return are much more useful.

Once you're leveled up and in NG+ you earn so much ergo you can scrap the ergo perks. I put some extra quartz into Fable arts and Fable ATK and it's been a great addition to my tech build.

Great guide. They made this whole thing needlessly confusing. From an all around fantastic game, this upgrade skill tree process is the one major issue. I’ve wasted a bunch of quartz before finding a guide (this one is by far the best). Now I’ve got to wait and make it to the respec area so that I can unf*ck my build.

All the dodge upgrades are basically Mandatory. But don't get it mistaken blocking and perfect guarding is the meta. "Parries" are the way you should be playing and dodging should be secondary

In my opinion as someone whos beaten the game i dont think the levels are really long enough to the point where you would really need that much more legion. Legion mags are so easy to get so if you need more for some reason just use those.

Being forced to take an Item Type ability for Phase 5 really sucks. Makes me wish I would have chosen different earlier on so I could have chosen Increased Ergo upon elimating enemy 2 for phase 5 instead of 3 lol. Maybe when I have all the Quartz for a run I'll go back and respec and try to get everything locked in better.

Just a heads up if you completely fill phase 1 and phase 2 you can bypass phase 3 and phase 4 and go straight to 5

They didn’t take into account how many people might not use a lot of the mechanics .. last act never used a wishstone. Don’t use grindstones .. used golden fruit tree once . Legion is cool but really not worth upgrading

Locking quality of life things behind this skill tree is one of my annoyances. The hp regen thing especially, you have to get so far in the game just to benefit from it. I would have rather they just did away with their bloodborne lite mechanic entirely.

Where is this mysterious 29th quarts? Everything I've read says 28 is the max and indeed 28 I found. Granted my first go round I only could use 27, leaving me with one quarts just hanging in a slot unfinished. I did find the 28th but it's locked behind the " frozen feast" side quest at the end game and that crap sword just wasn't appealing next to the amulet it has as an alternative choice so common sense dictated that the amulet is the way to go and it is but it screws you out of the 28th quarts so keep that in mind while quartz hunting, anyway if there's a 29th I'd like to know whose Butt to plunder to get it, cheers all the same🔥🤘🏻💀🤘🏻🔥

I'm bummed I missed 2 quartz tied to the big blue greatsword. I went with the amulet instead because I'm a dex build. I'm at chapter 11 stuck on laxasia boss, and I'm sitting at 24 quartz crystals, so I have to wait until new game+ before I get the other quarz

If you get knocked down you can dodge straight from the ground instead of slowly standing back up and then dodging. Like a safety roll.

Extra special grindstone isn’t that great imo opinion because a lot of the time I’ll find myself buffing my weapon in a boss fight and can barely get in and get a couple attacks while it’s still imbued. The duration is very short and once it’s gone, those p-organ abilities are useless for the rest of the fight. I like to pick abilities that will stick with you the entire fight as opposed to abilities that are short timed.

If im not mistaken tge 1st pulse cell ALWAYS charged again when i was depleted.. even before i got the charge cells automatically perk. i am not seeing a difference in pulse cells charging ast the 1st cell after i unlocked the perk. Whats going on

The perk makes it charge significantly faster. I just beat a late game boss with this perk, I ran around the arena while this recharged and I was able to defeat him.

@@MedievalMarty I disagree with OP's assessment, especially after the capacity buff it's something everyone should be leveling for better defense and more legion, and there's a skill (lvl 4 green i think?) that decreases stamina usage as your weight increases. Strong synergy with heavy, defensive, multi-legion/weapon builds that focus on guard/regain/parry, making them just as viable as light/avg weight dodge-focused builds.

It doesn't. You just unlock the pulse cells by putting those perks on. So along with the abilities you put on, you get another pulse cell

@@EXL72 ikr. mfw max level in Nioh 2 is 750 with an addition THOUSAND (1000) extra levels to put into other stats and it's pretty intended for you to get max level unlike souls games
