John “The King of Riddles” Arlecchino was fired from his job as puzzle master at the local bar after a “violent” incident. He now lives in a transformer station near the edge of town, stealing ethernet from unsuspecting homes.

No idea if the game devs intended it but Arlecchino's position and state are very similar to Brau-1598 from the 2004 manga "Pluto". Brau-1598 was the first robot in his world to kill a human so the parallels are pretty clear. Chapter 3, page 14 for anyone interested.
