People learned the word “narcissistic” and call everyone that and it’s aggravating. Just like how people call switching moods fast “bipolar”. I believe that they self-diagnose because they don’t want to have to go to a psychiatrist and risk that psychiatrist tell them that they have no mental illness. Struggle is popular now, and people really think that if you don’t struggle and have continuous hardships then your words and feelings aren’t valid or worthy.

To be fair, most people who say stuff like that don’t get that there is a difference between saying someone has narcissistic traits vs diagnosing someone with a narcissistic personality disorder. I say that say a lot of narcissistic behaviors are more popular these days so it’s not inaccurate to say people are exhibiting narcissistic tendencies more frequently these days. Social media has normalized SO many toxic antisocial behaviors in the past couple of years.

My man and I have been together for five years now and our first date was to Red Lobster and then we went to see the Venom movie. Afterwards, he surprised me with frozen yogurt and we hung out until my mom called me and told me it was time to come home. We were still in our early 20s so there came a point where a date for us was ordering a pizza and taking it to the park to chill and relax together in the fresh air or we'd get some coffee or boba and walk the trail together or sit and talk for hours. I love to get nice things and give nice gifts but I agree that isn't what makes a relationship stay together. A relationship truly has longevity when you are a team that is always there for one another and you uplift each other. Also, getting expensive gifts isn't always the way to go because I remember one year I got my boyfriend a huge book on how to draw anime characters and he was ECSTATIC about it and the book was on sale at Barnes and Noble for like $10. I got that with some of his favorite candy and other small things and he was happy. Times are tough on everybody right now so if you buying people gifts for the holidays and whatnot just focus on stuff you know that they would enjoy without having to break the bank.

Also, I have a friend who's autistic and he fits all of the "you may be autistic if you do this" listings, but the thing is.. you have to have most if not all the things listed to maybe be autistic, for example you can't not be able to detect sarcasm and be okay with noise, thats just an example. From a former nail tech. Frequent gel manicures can weaken nails and damage the nail bed, especially if the prep and removal aren't done carefully. Those nail designs are overrated and ugly if I’m being honest. Super long nails are unhygienic af. Those duck nails are 🗑️. Paying $150+ just for designs and rhinestones for a week or two(at best, god forbid they break during then) is not worth it. I used to get a fill every two weeks and to cut costs I would get them clear and do my own design how I wanted them done. Since 2020 I’ve been doing my own polygel. I’m a nail biter and work with my hands so to keep me away from biting I get them done or do them myself. The unrealistic dating standards hits really hard as a gen z we have the expectations way too high when we barely even meet people our age in real life. The lack of third places is only exasperated by social media The cheesecake factory video pointed it out a lot that people are shallow for nothing. I understand why people self-diagnose, though. Mental health services aren't accessible for a lot of people. One doesn't have to necessarily claim the illness before formally diagnosed, but they can learn about how to cope with whatever they're dealing with.
@TheeMademoiselle
@TheeMademoiselle 5 ай бұрын
That’s true but for many people they would rather self diagnose. I have a video on how to get free mental health services in my description at all times. You can also easily research hoe to get mental health services. Those who are low income, most of the time can get mental health services covered by state insurance (I know because I did it). Now we also have online therapy. Many therapists also will lower their service prices for you if you cannot afford it out of pocket. There are a lot of people who spend money on things they don’t need, but won’t spend money on therapy. That’s a real issue.

My hair is that for me, I don’t spend a lot on looks stuff but I’ll drop money on a good hair cut and I’m so hype to have a job again so I can get it dyed instead of having to do it myself. about the self diagnosis thing, that’s why I say “it’s possible” because I don’t want to be walking around here saying I have this & that for it to come out not true. my mom has been doing the research longer than me because she’s been noticed the signs since I was little. I would love to get a professional diagnosis & I just started doing research on what I may have. if it comes out true, then I’ll have to figure out how to live with it.

As I clearly said, you don’t HAVE TO in order to please others as in it’s not normal or necessary. This video highlights things that social media has normalized. In addition, if you clearly can’t pay your bills, you shouldn’t be getting your nails done, especially excessively and then paying mad money to do so.

Honestly, if the 50/50 is truly split down the middle then I have no problem with it. What I do have an issue is if the woman is doing all the cooking, cleaning, giving birth, taking care of the kids, being available for sex on top of going to work and then having to split all the bills, that’s not a true 50/50 that’s like a 30/70 relationship disguise as a 50/50. Heck to naw, I rather be single. I’m grateful my husband pays the majority of the bills. I do have to pay the smaller bills but he makes more than me and we split the domestic responsibilities in half and I’m happy with that but expecting someone to pay 100% of the bills in this economy is ridiculous and unrealistic.

Don’t get me started on the 20 v whatever videos and the illusion of having plenty of options when it comes to dating. The lack of preteen role models is getting out of control. Some of these teenagers look my age (23) but sophomores in high school. They look cute but there’s nothing to look forward to when they become grown. They become targets for predators and they use the excuse “They don’t look 16 and lied about their age.” You knew good and well during y’all first conversation that she was underage

For the nail part I also get my nails done regularly and have been since I was 17 I’m a pretty creative person so I do get designs and such but nothing that’s way crazy . Just expressing my creativity and if I ain’t got it or have something more important to pay for the nails can wait . But heavy on the self diagnoses part ! Because idk how many people I meet who swear they have “bipolar disorder” or adhd but never got actually diagnosed just making assumptions . And it’s offensive to those who actually have said illnesses . Like people are making a mockery of mental health it’s sick af fr

Lack of honor, integrity, faithfulness, all rooted in the destruction of the family, turning our back on God and his commandments. Like ancient Rome, Egypt, Mesopotamia, they fell for the same reason. Strong men bring good times, good times make weak men, weak men make bad times, bad times make strong men. We're in the weak men make bad times but I believe that will change, not in my lifetime but maybe my grandchildren will live to see it.
