Glen was asked to do the music for the film Once, but the main star Cillian Murphy (I think) changed his mind about playing the main part. The producer (write and ex bass player for Glen's band the Frames) asked Glen to step in and play the lead. And then Glen suggested Mar to play the girl in the film. I think, music first, then film, then 'we should give ourselves a name' like, 'I know, what about The Swell Season'.
