Life after Caregiving VLOG | Now what

We return back to our home in California. We laid my mom, Queen "G" to rest back on the Navajo reservation in Arizona. It was a long journey to and from on the road. Getting back home is different without her. It's a time to grieve, yet a time to get to work as a former caregiver. Because, as a family caregiver our jobs really don't end when their life journey ends. Ours sort of takes another turn to a lot of work. A new chapter has begun. Don't worry, I will still share caregiving on my channel as I am filming new caregiving videos for those who need them.
If you found my channel as a caregiver, never give up hope. Stay strong, stay focus, and stay YOU. I will keep sharing my journey as I keep moving forward. In this video we start a whole new chapter. I always remember the day my maternal grandmother passed away and how difficult it was for me and how much I cried...Her funeral was so beautiful there were so many people like your mom's and horses, birds, sheep, cattle, and so many animals were surrounding her burial and when we finally put her to rest a ligh shower started. My grandma was so loving and kind like your mom who also loved Jesus. I still cry when I think of her but I know she would want me to smile and be happy too. I honor her with my life and you did beautiful caring for your mom ❤ you're inspiring Dee, love and hugs to you ❤️

Grief is such a process, Dee. You have to allow yourself time and space to walk through it. ❤ My mom has been gone for 31 years and there’s not a day that goes by that she isn’t dearly missed!! I was a caregiver for my father for six years until he passed away almost two years ago. He lived with us and I helped him with most everything. I am kept especially busy these days with the advent of our two grandchildren being born but I miss the conversations dad and I used to have. There’s nothing like family who know everything about you and understand where you’re coming from. ❤ I do believe we will meet again in heaven though. So this is only see you later. 🙏 Take good care of yourself, my friend.

Oh yes she is! I was lucky that she told me practically every single day “thank you!” from her. Even her last days, we both didn’t need words to express what we felt ❤️🙏🏼 We told each other so much, it was definitely known.

It's so good to know you're taking care of yourself and making all those appointments to maintain your health. Don't think you have to be strong all the time because that's fake. It's good for you to release some of that grief and sadness, as you did at the dentist and in this vlog.

I remember when I received my brother's autopsy report, then his death certificate. It felt so heavy on my mind and heart. I've lost family members, but it was truly different when I lost my little brother. Nothing helped my grief... except walking. I found a 3 mile trail and walked it repeatedly day after day. Until one day, the grief stopped. I was able to let go of the pain... not my brother or the memories, just the heaviness of pain. 😎

Hello Dee, I can relate to what your going thru. I lost my sister to lung cancer 4 months ago. It wasn't easy. There are days when I just about fall apart. But I just keep going. You continue to be strong. Love your videos. It makes my day.

Dee, give yourself time, it's a process. My father made sure when the parents passed that the bills were paid, the funerals were paid and that the family didn't have to pay anything out of pocket and beneficiaries were all assigned. He was a wise father. I see my mother in my siblings very last grandchild, she is 3 y.o., and boy can she dance like nobody business and she doesn't care who is watching. She will dance do any type of music but she loves to mimic Selena. My mother taught us how to dance when we were young and the 3 y.o., is my mother. It's funny how they still linger through others and just the everyday surroundings.

It took me 2 full years to resolve my dad’s affairs… and it was during the pandemic so everything was slow and my grief was overwhelming…it’s like the process of the business afterward was slow torture. It didn’t really feel “over and done” until the very last bit of business was complete.

I've been thinking about you for a while now Dee and hoping you were OK. I lost my Mum about 5 years ago so I know what it's like. I could have messaged you but I didn't think it appropriate to disturb you whilst you were re scheduling and grieving of course. Most days I think of how you are doing. It will be hard for a while, my son is still struggling with losing his gran, like he had to use his hard drive yesterday for the first time In a while and needed more space so went through it and saw photos of his gran which set him off crying again, he's 28 so cuddles from me his Mum aren't usually a thing but yesterday it was. Good Sunday to you, Dee. Yes, that sunrise and rainbows was a gift from your mom. So beautiful. Oh my gosh I will totally go watch your fibroid story here on YT. My friend is going thru that as well. It's hard to be woman, for sure! Your ear rings looked GORGEOUS btw. I know how you feel, I have lost a couple of friends I have known since high school this year alone. It's all too much. This means hubby and I are growing old. LOL. Those roses looked so pretty, girl! YOU deserve all the pretty things, girl.
