Warwick is definitely not flat, though does have a quick slight downhill finish. A well organised and enjoyable experience though.

Worth noting the Rome Ostia half in March. Short trip around the city and then a straight road to the old port town. Quite flat too... Completely agree about the winter training being the best bit! The reward of getting in after a long run in the cold is unbeatable for me.

Head up to Edinburgh for the marathon. You should get free entry with your time, it's the end of May & it'll likely be freezing & wet 🥶

Why on earth would you get free entry to Edinburgh with a 2:44? 😂😂

The video I’ve been waiting for! Very much like you, ran Dublin this weekend in a PB 2:55 but should have done better really (poor fuelling plan and inadequate mileage in build up). We’re all in that post marathon funk! Thanks mate, great video and good luck on the shorter stuff, that’ll also be my focus for next while!
@TheFODRunnerАй бұрын
Thanks buddy, well done at Dublin, good on you, thats a solid time on what I gather isnt a flat course?
@DamianoCunegodagreat28 күн бұрын
@ cheers mate! Yep. Few hills in it for sure. Average mileage ended up being 49k for the 12 weeks due to some illness and the impact of small kids on training! So given that I shouldn’t be too disappointed. I do wonder how you manage to fit in such high mileage constantly with a busy lifestyle very impressive juggling! 👍
@mikehobbs624Ай бұрын
Sounds like a fun packed calender of races! Hopefully see you at bourton Warwick isn't flat, but it is fairly fast. Bath is reasonably quick apart from the cheeky hill at the end, where you will lose about 20 seconds. The surrey half in Wokingham is a good course, same day as bath 👍
@TheFODRunnerАй бұрын
Thanks Mike! I did actually check out the Surrey half but didn’t pay too much attention too it, you think it’s flatter than Warwick yes?

Loving the running plans Andy, a nice mixed bag to keep things exciting. I've decided to concentrate on my 5k time over the next few weeks and try and PB, until the start of my next marathon block. I've decided to do Milton Keynes. Have you run it? Look forward to the journey 🎉

A blast from the past, I remember doing the Bourton 10K when I think Mark Flint won it in just over 29mins!!! He looked like he floated over the ground! Anyway, if the Jewlers still sponsor it, it should be a good event. Dennis Walmsley was the local hero!

Great plan Andy. I ran Warwick last year and have booked for next year as it is local for me. Word of caution, it isn’t flat! Undulating!

@@TheFODRunner it definitely is not flat. Around 450-600ft elevation. But definitely a good one to do in the run in to a flatter HM. The hills are not horrendous.

I’d make one a goal race and the other the backup… then there’s no issue 👊 make the decision closer to the time to see what the weathers like and then just have a week of easy running post 1st half… smal workouts in the 2nd week, normal workouts 3 week, taper 4th week
