I'm so proud of you! And thank you for sharing your vulnerability and honesty. I just started my first job out of dental school and there are so many struggles that come ONCE we start working as well [burnout, imposter syndrome, finding the right office/fit]. I've been watching your journey for years and can't wait to see you grow not just in your career but as a human. It's important to find the time to enjoy the small things in life like our hobbies, aspirations and mental health. And it's pretty hard to do those things once you are working 24/7. And of course, we're all on our own timelines like I'm 28 and still trying to find myself a man and get married LOL, the stress is real. InshaAllah everything will work out when it's meant to. You got this :)

We actually tend to overlook what we have and desperately waiting for things we don’t have, and this is the definition of being mesirable. Thank you for highlighting this point. It is the source of all stress.

Awww Maha! What a brilliant idea to make that list. I’m a first year pathology resident and sometimes it feels like the ups and downs never end… and I think they actually don’t (as proven by your experience lol) but God is in control and learning to handle the low moments with grace is so beautiful! Sharing my experience on line is surprisingly cathartic, so thank you for inspiring all of us in so many ways, including the ways you’re vulnerable with us online :)

Thank you for sharing. I am in a transition phase in my life after working in a field for 8-10 years. It is quite helpful to see other folks going from one phase to another and thinking of the beauty of the in-between. I pray much success and ease comes to you on the job market soon! ❤

Oh wow! I used to watch your videos a lot when I was considering med school. Since then you haven’t uploaded and I decided to do public health instead. Now it’s been two years since I graduated and I haven’t found a long term (I recently got laid off from my last one). So now I’m in this period of uncertainty with life and seeing you upload these past two videos made me feel less alone. I hope you find your job soon as well as myself ❤

i love the positive outlook and the way you share it too! Can you talk more about the job search bc its extremely concerning for anyone to be in that much debt and can't get a position as a new doctor.

I'm not a doctor nor do I have any interest in becoming one. I can't remember why I started watching your videos, but you have such a warm, inviting, uplifting personality, which keep me hooked despite our very different journeys in life :)

There's khayr in delay and there's khayr in what comes our way, even if we don't see it at first. Assalamu alaikum sis! I just came across your video in my recommendations and am praying that everything gets better for you! I pray that Allah helps those of us with student loans out of our debt and that He keeps us steadfast on His deen. May He bless you and your family and reward you for making the most of this time you have. Ameen

Thank you for sharing this! The mindset that you developed can be applied to all other fields in life and it is so motivating for me to watch a video like this, I hope I will also apply this mindset on my own struggles. One day when you look back on these days and remember how you lived through this period, you will be happy and proud of yourself. Just trust God, there is a reason behind every why.. He protects you from something you are not aware of.

Salam, I hope you are feeling better. This was a very vulnerable video and glad you shared as I am sure everyone has been through something similar. I loved how you allowed yourself to feel those emotions and acknolwedge how you are feeling and then how you were able to realize and flip the switch, seeing the blessings of what you have now and most importantly time. Inshallah, you can continue to take advantage of it. May Allah bless with you with what's best to come, for a job that will keep you steadfast and allow you to help many patients. SubhanAllah, 'But they plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners' is what comes to mind in this situation. I can understand how frustrating it is to have that mounting debt looming over your shoulder and just wanting to work straight away but clearly Allah has better plans. Inshallah khair

I can relate to your situation! I’m also in IM and dealing with a very disorganized hospital system that I signed up for. I’ve "partially" started working this week, and it's been quite the experience. It’s crazy how unpredictable life can be sometimes, but you’ve got this! God’s got you.

Let's be real unless you're rich or have connections getting a job directly in your field (even for medical professionals apparently) is extremely difficult right now. The job market is so bad and it's so frustrating.

Have you considered teaching? You could teach at the secondary and post secondary level part time while you wait. You also would qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness if you teach at a public school. You would be an awesome professor or teacher. x

So I don't usually write comments, but here it goes. A fellow FM physician here, I was in exactly the same situation 1 year ago, couldn't start because of visa delays. Was delayed around 2 months and we were paying rent for a house already while being overseas. But what got me through was that I did that before starting residency as well because of COVID delays at that time, I kept reminding myself how much I wished I would've embraced that time more in the first round. Role play, that helps. Imagine how in around 2 months you'll be wishing for a moment of quiet, for morning serenity. Romanticise each moment even if you're faking it. Just tell yourself you're going to miss the solitude. Pretend you're a full time KZbinr if you may. I hope this helps. If you're in the mood, the stuck book and show your work are two good books to read or listen to at this time. Again IF YOU feel like it. We tend to do more when we're anxious but sometimes doing things slowly and rediscovering who we are (not what we do) is what we need, although it might not be what we want. Your faith is strong, you got it ❤

I watched your videos because you are SO relatable and you weren't scared to show yourself going through rough patches, which was always super encouraging for me ❤ I'm sure things will out fine no matter what the actual result is ❤❤❤

Hey I love your videos but hope you don't take this advice horrible but when filming in your apartment building make sure to cut out things like windows because those can show your location due to familiar statues or buildings And people are sick and crazy in this world.
