The director did an excellent job with this presentation. The southern culture was described by intelligent people who had a degree of some type. The narrator spoke in a manner that allowed one time to process what she was saying. George Washington was so broke when he was going to his first term as President that he had to borrow $500.00 to tide him over. The Southern way of life was not geared towards money but rather self sufficiency. There is a great series on KZbin by the ladies of Mount Vernon that describes all the many different facets of the plantation and how amazingly it was organized by George Washington. I particularly liked the video here describing how the women built the Indian mounds. I never knew that. Of course, the women owned the property, so it makes sense. Again, this show was very well done. Thanks for posting it!
