As a father of a autistic son I feel the pain of just wanting you son to come talk to you, say a few words, to bond through conversations. He's 6yo and has gotten alot better at communicating but usually needs to be prompted, alot of times it's the parroting talked about in the video. He's happy and the sweetest kid ever, which is all I care about and want for him. To be healthy and happy. Doing well in school

The biggest challenge an autistic person encounters is acceptance in the community at large. Acceptance means just that, not trying to force the autist to be something they're not. It's damaging in ways that even the autist doesn't see at the time. You go through school being bullied and teased for your difference, not understanding why. You get excluded from things you want to partake in. You're made to feel like an alien who's stranded on this planet. Acceptance means all that goes away. Take this from an autistic person - me.

I am autistic too, the Asperger Syndrome and i can understand Owen very well. For me are Cate Blanchett movies the same that for him Disney movies are...this movies help me to understand the world better and give me very much joy. And i know all her movies from the heart. My biggest wish is it to meet her...what a pitty, that this dream will never come true, that makes me very sad. I would be so happy, if i could meet her, even if it is only for one or two minutes, it would be a big joy for me.

If anyone wants Owen to rewrite the screenplay of Wish, raise your hand. And perhaps something will be proper for Disney100.

My brother is PDD-NOS, and he regressed and lost his language suddenly and rapidly as well and was never the same. It's an incredible thing to witness.
@dariusvilla56805 жыл бұрын
SleepyMoogle, I have autism and it started off with this same kind of regression that happened to me when I was about 18 months old. Before then, I was a normal baby and toddler. But when I started regressing, I lost my speech and my social skills, and started doing weird, autistic repetitive behaviors. I dd not speak again until I was 6, the same age Owen started to speak again. I'm now at Asperger's level since I was like 8. There are few other autistics who appeared to be normal and nuerotypical for the first few years and regress like that, that can say that. How is your brother now?

@Joice Omo There is no such thing as a miracle cure for autism, it is a disorder caused by having too many connections in the brain after birth. If this isn't spam I seriously hope you see a real doctor because early intervention life skills therapy and speech therapy is the one thing that is most likely to increase the odds of a good long term outcome.

I learned from Disney movies like the little mermaid and. Frozen and Cinderella and Alice in wonderland. Cause I was diagnosed with autism after I had my third birthday. Cause my mom saw the dark days of my early signs of autism like not eye contact and speech and not sleeping

We do hear his take on all this. There are several documentaries or interviews with him and his mum and/or dad (Ron and Cornelia Suskind). They're fascinating, and give a real insight into Owen. #actuallyautistic

Was he given the MMR vaccine by any chance? It contains a big amount of mercury which is a neurotoxin and can therefore cause a serious neurological developmental delay such as low functioning autism (high f. tends to be genetic). Unfortunately I have experience with autism but fortunately an anti-metal detox can help greatly. Chlorella and mineral water with silica clean the brain of metals such as mercury and aluminum. Vitamin B12, magnesium and going gluten free and casein protein free I find helpful too. Nonetheless, it's a huge thing to receive this diagnosis and my heart goes out to this family.

Okay, that is an offensive stereotype right there! There is no evidence to suggest that autism is brought on by vaccines or anything else of any kind! So stop talking about autism as if it's a disease, because it's not! Nothing causes autism! It just happens that's all
@silicon212Ай бұрын
Vaccines do not cause autism. Say it with me. Vaccines do not cause autism. Autism is the result of a brain that is wired differently - synaptic pruning that occurs in the neurotypical brain does not work the same way in an autistic brain - in the autistic brain there are more synapses, more noise and hyper-everything. A lot of what people who are not autistic see in the autistic person is due to a brain that is overworking - the hyperconnectivity etc. Too much noise, too much sensory input, it overwhelms.
