Not really. There were multiple steps where he gained the respect of the village. His real changes came in four major steps. 1. His father's chakra in his seal. He learned why his father did what he did 2. His talk with Nagato and learning where his name came from. 3. The most important was the love he received from Iruka at a young age. 4. His time spent with Jiraya . Each prepared him to overcome his hatred of the village and, more importantly, his self-hatred.

I mean, his name would STILL be Uzumaki. When his parents married you had an orphan and a woman from a clan that ruled an entire country and was (allegedly) held in similar esteem as the Senju.

Culturally he would have been Namikaze..even if his name held no value Heck, if anybody had any know at all, naming him Uzumaki was just as dangerous as naming him Namikaze But yeah, despite being an orphan, and ignoring the cultural point, Minato was still a world wide name who became hokage, so he made his name become something of great stature regardless

And culturally, if they're at all based on Japan (which they blatantly are), then it's not automatically being named after the father. Minato would have taken Kushina's name when they married (because her family is the name in greater esteem) and Naruto would have still been Uzumaki.
