1:15 Ha, I enjoy Ekoh, played it for World Shakuhachi Day - Is it one of the traditional pieces that has little known about it or am I misremembering?

No there is a lot we know about it even by the title alone. It comes from ichigetsuji which is in chiba and that temple only has two know. Surviving pieces, ekoh and hachigaeshi (not related to hifumi).
