In this episode, finally it is time to head out for a shakedown sail. Nandji spent a long 7 months on the hardstand. We have completed some major repairs, done some massive upgrades, had a baby and now have a beautiful boat we can call home. Nandji has been floating for a couple of weeks and we have managed to organise everything and move back on board. The next step is to see if NAndji works. Let's go sailing and test it all out!!

With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace as we have just had our first baby, born in Malaysia! Now completing our second major refit, Nandji is ready for the world when the world is ready for us!!!

Ciel has had her stormy jacket from 3 to 9! They make a really good offshore auto inflate from 15kg to 40kg and it's been awesome. Ciel was super skinny so we had them make the hardness smaller to fit her waist and they happily did. It's lasted the time!

Great seeing you all sail and explore together. It won't be long before the little one will try exploring the deck on her own. I hope you get some netting to go around the railing and keep her tethered at all times when above. In what will seem like no time at all, she will be asking for the tender in the same way most teens ask for the car keys.

i used to work on a big old relic of a drillship. anchor chain links were 96 lbs. each if i recall. sometimes they'd somehow tie themselves into knots while steaming between locations. thankfully i was drilling dept. and not marine dept. those poor lads down in that hot stinky chain locker trying to untie knots in that heavy chain with crowbars...i'm just glad it wasn;t me. it was likely dangerous too because that chain would pile itself high like a mountain sometimes. glad to see you guys sailing again. best of luck and thnx for another dandy video.

Great video. Great to see you back on the water. That life jacket for Tula was really well designed. Yikes about the box jelly fish. I wash swimming about 75 metres off shore at a resort in Hualtuco, Mexico when I felt the long trailing tentacles of a jellyfish slide across my arm. The pain I felt was incredible and my arm became instantly paralyzed. I was lucky I had flippers on because it allowed me to turn on my back and kick my way to shore. I was lucky my other arm wasn't stung because I needed it to help keep my head and upper body above the water. The paralysis in my arm did not subside until I had reached shore. I was very lucky my legs hadn't been touched because I probably would have drowned. Very scary.

I remember those "first" days with my first. Recorded everything, made notes of everything, etc... Then the 2nd one came along and we recorded, but not as much.
