In this episode, we are out sailing and going through Nandji's systems to make sure everything works. We have been living at anchor for a few days, learning what life is like living on Nandji once again. We need to head back into the marina to continue our preparations for leaving and finalise Marley's departure to New Zealand, with a little breeze, we head back towards the marina. We are on a shakedown, so as the wind was blowing, the sails go up.... Then they all fall down.... We need to head back in to the marina for repairs instead!!

With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across to South Africa once cyclone season had finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean once again, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We have just completed our second major refit and Nandji is nearly ready for the long journey ahead of Sailing to Australia for summer!

If you can find it, Gortex thread will stand up to the elements a lot longer than other threads. I use it for boat covers/zippers.

Use Gore Tenara thread. It's basically teflon. Harder to sew with but will hold up. Down side is it's expensive.

Some of us are lucky enough to be able chart our own course through life. More people have this ability than they think, but only a few people, like Yosh and Bonita, have the courage to truly chart a course of independence and self-reliance. Great stuff To remove the stains easily from the sails IE rust marks use Oxalic Acid It will also remove rust stains from the decks/hull etc Keep scrubbing lol

I bought some UV proof thread from Sailrite and it was close to a hundred bucks per spool. It must be pretty good for having such a high price ! It may be well worth it ! Cheers

I would be very careful giving Marley chicken bones. They splinter and can get stuck in the throat or stomach. I have a couple of friends who have lost their dogs due to chicken bones😦 Great job on the repairs

Marley and his burying bones! I gave my chi one, and the little shit buried it in my purse/handbag with my wallet and all. I reached in and found it. UGH! So I am not sure if Marley needs to step up his game of creativity or mine needs to figure out he is a dog and his bed is where he should bury bones! LMBO!
