I love that Jesse is making the KZbin equivalent of a book tour right now. I think that he and Mark Headley are the best Scientology story tellers and I also feel that Chris Shelton and Jeffrey Augustine usually ask the best interview questions in the moment. I get excited when I see a pair up like this!

can you start asking people how they got their lives together after leaving? that's the thing i'm always interested in -- where did they go, how'd they get a place to live, a job, what are they doing now? Coming from that bubble, it has to be terrifying, and i'm always impressed at how well people do.

Jesse seems like such a fun, authentic person. It's so strange, I've yet to stumble across an ex Scientologist I don't like. It's such a shame so many incredible people got sucked into that vortex of doom for years, but I'm glad they finally got out and moved on with their lives. So much respect.

Wow! Jesse is one of the people who I really wanted to know more about from the time I first started reading up about Scientology’s history, because I had all the same questions as everyone else seems to have about Miscavige and his rise to power, and I knew he had been there and seen it. He’s even more insightful than I hoped he would be. He also has a lot of interesting stuff to say about what drew him to Scientology and what kept him there, and I admire his pragmatic attitude towards what he could take away from his time in Scientology. It’s super scary to hear about how the lawyers kept Scientology on life support. I’v never felt remotely tempted by Scientology, and I’ve always wondered why so many obviously very bright, successful people are drawn to it, and why they stay once they start to realize that it’s not what they hoped it would be. I’ve also wondered, for years and years now, about the weird absence of people of color in Scientology, and that makes what Jesse has to say even more valuable. Please have him back when you can.

BlackExcellence at it’s finest, the only Black Man I’ve seen so far on Scientology revelations and his Intelligent af! I like what he said about reaching the point where he didn’t need to be there... and you can tell he doesn’t seem like someone who needed to be blackmailed to remain in the church. I’m glad he’s a free man from this cult. This is a chilled beautiful Soul 🙌🏿

I'm so glad when around the 56:00 minute mark Jesse establishes that the culture of violence at Int/Gold was truly established and normalized by Hubbard initially, and Miscavige literally came into adulthood believing that was just how you operated. Being around Hubbard in his last years, while DM was in his developmental years, must have permanently altered his head and like a virus his insanity infected those around him. That's not to excuse DM for perpetrating it, but it shows the tragedy of what the cult can do to especially younger people, particularly ones with a predisposition to narcissism.Things like the Hole have their basis in L. Ron's later, especially ruthless policies and punishments. Everything from the rock slam/RPF establishment period, to destroying his own C/S David Mayo right after he claimed that Mayo saved his life, must have had a powerful effect on how paranoid and vindictive the executive strata thought it should be from then on -- people like Miscavige, Marty, Rinder etc were coming into adulthood when these events transpired. So many times the abused become the abuser in an endless cycle of continuance. Those last 15 years of LRH's life invalidate the Freezone argument that Miscavige alone destroyed the church....where do people think he learned his trade?

Exactly! I've been like a broken record about this for years - nice to hear that others feel the same way. Indies have their heads in the sand, regarding the Saint Ron rhetoric.
@JohnDoe-ym5ly6 жыл бұрын
The same people who can claim that 'ethics didn't used to be so ridiculous' should've talked to David Mayo, his teeth falling out running around a pole in the desert when LRH commanded it, and then fair gamed into silence for YEARS after he left. The ethics were always as ridiculous and arbitrary, all that happened was that it got expanded downwards by DM as the church began to fail to expand, and he had to use strong arm control methods on even public who used to be more immune from it to keep them in the fold.
@SuppressioHibernicis6 жыл бұрын
Also, the directive to absolutely destroy Paulette Cooper was under hubbard's governance - yeah really nice fellow, a real champion of humanitarian endeavours.
@JohnDoe-ym5ly6 жыл бұрын
Yep. It's just like Chris Shelton outlined in one of his videos -- destruction is woven into the DNA of the tech. Are there workable self help or common sense principles scattered throughout? Sure -- but they can be had much cheaper, much more sanely, and much less harmfully than the church can offer those principles.

After watching this, I Googled Mr. Prince to get more info, and I'll be damned if the top page of results weren't very, very nasty smears against him (and other notable figures, namely Davey's dad). You'd never know by looking at the names of the websites on those results, but at the very bottom, in very tiny letters, is "the church of Scientology". Disgusting how they work
