It is hard to believe what one is seeing in this video. Two animals in Nature who have bad reputations for being aggressive and willing to fight any animal or person who threatens them, amazing.

Oh! ❤️🐾😊 They are the archetypal odd couple. How lovely that they have each other as companions and playmates. I had no idea the wolverine was so small in comparison to a bear. Thank you, Linda, for sharing these great sequences.

I love this footage. What a great bonding between these two. There have been other extraordinary friendships in zoos. Certain Orca subspecies will prey on Dolphins in the wild, yet there was a Oceanarium kept Orca that bonded with his Dolphin friends and became quite protective of them.

@SABRETOOTH No, wolverine has never killed any bear. Wolves kill more wolverines than other predators, but bear is on top of the picking order. Stop reading comics and instead what real biologists etc. tell about real world.

However, its fierce reputation has often been exaggerated. They are known to steal furbearers from traps and to damage cabins but contrary to stories will not attack a larger predator, like a wolf or a bear. Instead, they avoid these animals as encounters with either of these predators may be fatal to the wolverine. Wolverines will defend a food source or its territory against other wolverines or smaller predators."

They later found the wolverine's carcass, showing clear evidence that it had been killed by a bear. Nearby, they discovered the carcass of an elk, along with additional evidence that the wolverine had attempted to drag it away from the bear, thus instigating the fatal encounter. "This incident, where a wolverine decided to battle it out head-on with another carnivore ten times his size, substantiates the species' ferocious and intrepid reputation. The center of the conflict, an elk, may have been a "winter-kill," frozen in the snow until discovered by the bear emerging from its winter hibernation," said Kristine Inman."

No it wouldn't. Unless juvenile bear, then wolverine can try to bluff. There is one known and documented case in which wolverine tried to fight black bear for carcass. That wolverine died.

@@tindikukka In the wild animals know that even a bite, to the paw, face or anywhere else, just one bite, can lead to their death through infection, inability to hunt or eat. That is why grizzlies and wolves stay clear of wolverines. Yes if an animals such as a pack of wolves has not eaten they will take chances and try to take on a wolverine. Wolverines have an incredible constitution, just like a honey badger and can survive wounds and snake bites that kill other animals. The injury leads to death theory explains why wolverines can walk right by a bear or a wolf and not get attacked, like a honey badger can walk past a pride of lions and they ignore them. A wolverine is bigger and stronger than a honey badger. They can run straight up a mountain at full speed. There is a video where a mountain lion fails to take a circus from a wolverine, then a grizzly bear comes along and fails to take it. Later a Bald Eagle comes and the wolverine runs away. That being said, in ancient Rome when they fought animals in the colosseum they said the big bears always won.
