Children normalize their own pain. They don't understand that their experience of their body's sensations is vastly different from their peers'. Not until a disease progresses into something more obvious or, rarely, when an adult takes a child's complaints seriously, will proactive measures be taken. However, this process can take years, years that are often critical to the chance of long-term survival.

Cannot watch anything where children are suffering....heartbreaking....could never do this job, it's just not fair or normal for children to die,...though of course it is....but it's so so wrong and hard to accept
