A new video announcing the reality of life behind the lens.
The life presented on @thatoxfordgirl may have looked pretty perfect over the last few years but the images on social media have been hiding the truth.
I finally feel ready to open up and reveal what's been going on under the surface.
If any of you are dealing with obstacles and challenges, then this video is for YOU, to show you that despite these, you can still achieve great things!

I've had Addison's for 21 years now, I'm a 47 year old from Australia. I don't know why your page came onto my feed, must have been fate. You look as concerned as i was when they told me. I've never posted a comment before anywhere. All I can say is keep strong it will get better. Doctor's told me to how hard my life will be but Addison's hasn't stopped me doing anything. I'm married with 2 kids, I'm a plumber, run my own company, still play sport, train everyday, I'm fitter and heathier than all of my mate. You look like a very intelligent person with a bright future, this won't stop you. You will learn to know your body and take extra meds when you need it. Eat clean and look after yourself, try to be stress free in this stressful world. Remember there is always someone worse off than you.

Sorry to hear you’ve lived with it for so long and thank you for posting your comment 😊 Really encouraging to hear you’ve been able to carry on living a great life! I’m told most patients can do that once they take the steroid their body is missing but sadly two years on mine is proving extremely unstable with multiple crises/emergency admissions! Let’s hope they work it out soon 🤞

Hi Tilly, love your videos, your story is very similar to mine. I got sick when I was 11, except I was born at 26 weeks. I have 14 major things wrong with me. Just letting you know that tuberculosis can attack your adrenal glands and cause Addison’s disease. Keep strong, you will have your very good days and your very bad days, but you will get through it. I have type one diabetes, Addison’s disease, Cerebral palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, tumour on my spine, hydrocephalus and cardiomyopathy. Plus four other rare diseases. I was also told not to bother going to university, but I went anyway, but couldn’t finish due to ill-health. I had a dancing school for 18 years that again closed due to health. I was one of the first in Queensland, Australia to be put on a hydrocortisone pump, so I have two pumps one for Diabetes and one for Addison’s. They both changed my life, and yes I still have to take 5 mg of steroids every morning, or like you I will crash. A lot of people on the Addison’s website in Australia have the same problem, we still need steroids along with hydrocortisone to get through a day. Temperature is a big problem, hot or cold and of course any stress … getting sick, scared anxious, tired. You just have to remember that we have to do it manually while other people‘s bodies do it automatically, so sometimes it’s hard. You look fantastic… keep going … the Addison’s Community is with you. Getting the message out there is half the battle.

Hi Kathryn, thank you for your comment. So sorry to hear you got ill at such v a young age too and are now having to cope with so many conditions, that must be so stressful to manage day to day and make you feel very unwell 😢 having to give you your dancing school is terrible, it’s awful how many things these illnesses take away! Delighted to hear the pumps have helped you. Mine hasn’t solved everything but it has helped in the night! Thank you re TB - we’ve said since day one surely that has caused it bug there is no evidence on scans but I’m now back on TB treatment so I’m with you, it has to be the cause! Keep going and thank you for your kind words 😊
