Guided meditation is a form of meditation where an individual is verbally guided into a beneficial state of consciousness either by a person's live voice or by a recording of a voice. This process and practice of meditation requires an individual to follow verbal instructions that teach you how to relax the entire body; clear the mind; concentrate on breathing; and focus one's awareness and attention.In meditation, one may choose to keep it simple by just sitting quietly every day for five to twenty minutes or one may decide to fully explore the tremendous subtleties and depth for hours on end. What one chooses to explore when meditating all depends on the individual's intentions, needs, and level of interest and passion.
In the fast-paced 21st century society, individuals' lives are becoming increasingly busier every day. Whether one's busy schedule is due to responsibilities for their occupation, education, community, recreational activities, family-life, and/or social-life, the stresses in our daily life can feel suffocating. Evidently, when an individual is so consumed by their daily responsibilities, expectations put on themselves, and obligations needed to be fulfilled for the gain of other's, one can lose sight of their own personal goals. In order to feel in control of your life and reduce stress, one's thoughts need to be balanced.Through meditation, one can clear the mind of everyday thoughts and stresses and focus all of their attention on living in the present and simply being, thus creating feelings of tranquility, physical relaxation, and psychological balance.
The first few attempts at meditating by oneself can be frustrating because it is not always an easy task to clear the mind of its daily thoughts and/or to focus all of your awareness on yourself alone. Many individuals decide to use guided meditations, as opposed to traditional meditation, when first learning how to meditate because the latter requires that the individual guide themselves into a focused state of awareness, instead of being guided by someone else.
"No matter what technique you choose, the secret of meditation lies in developing, focusing, and directing your awareness."
Start by selecting a guided meditation.
Find a quiet place to sit or lie down comfortably, ensuring that your back is straight. Press play on your guided meditation. (Headphones are ideal).
Close your eyes; breathe deeply in and out through your nose; and relax your body. Forget about everything that is on your mind and live in the present.
Pick an object to focus your attention on. (Depending on your preference, you may decide to focus on a word or phrase that has a special meaning to you, a simple geometric object, or your inhale and exhale).
Become more aware of your breathing, feeling and hearing your breath as it goes in and out. In addition to focusing your attention on your chosen object, listen to and follow the instructions verbalized by your guide.

This is the best guided meditation I have come across to date. The day after the first time I tried it, I was feeling tremendous and I couldn't think why. I had totally forgotten I had done this mediation the night before. I suffer from anxiety and depression and I had been going through a particularly low and very anxious time. This meditation completely recharged my energy and made me feel on top of the world. Thank you ❤️

I loved this meditation. The longer I sat there in meditation, the more I relaxed and let go. It is one of the best meditations I have ever experienced. Why does your voice echo? That was a little distracting at first, but I became accustomed to it after a few minutes. Thank you so much for doing it.

Wow, this is amazing! I'm a nurse and I did this entire exercise. I then monitored my heart rate and pulsox (O2 in my blood) before and after. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to measure my respirations doing this exercise alone, however the conclusion was as follows. BEFORE: HR 103 Pulsox 97% AFTER: HR 72 Pulsox 98%. Science doesn't lie:)

+Nee Nee Enck So basically you heart rate was lower after 20 of relaxation and your oxygen level rose 1% after 20 min of slow deep breathing. You learnt that would happen in A&P class, its not science its the basic physiology of the human body. Something tells me you'll find the same results after awaking from a mid day nap or 20min bathe

This actually worked! I have i bad kind of insomnia and This relaxed both my mind and body. In thé last 72 hours i slept only 4 hours. This is a blessing. I just woke up. Thank you so so so much.

Wowwww wonderful experience...when I started I was in anger mood ...soo pissed off by the people around me but as I kept on listening and meditating I felt something very strange as if the anger going down ans down..... Superb ...gonna continue this 😊

This is my first time attempting this level of relaxation. Has anyone ever gotten emtoional during meditation? I felt supremely happy to the point of tears. This is all so new to me but I am interested in learning more about meditation.

omg can i say its 2019 and my 1st time ever doing an actual meditation and wow, i can feel it as he speaks and to the end when he count down to open my eyes i did came out of a deep relaxation i definitely recommend this to everyone to try will be adding to my playlist

Was prescribed Zoloft for anxiety and that was a complete mess, screwed up my thoughts and productivity after only the first day of trying that treatment. I found this meditation and have been doing it daily for a month. Anxiety is gone, dumped the drug in the trash, and actually my workouts have gotten more productive and intense from a refreshed energy. Many thanks Guru.

This is THE most amazing breathing and relaxation meditation I have EVER come across. I do this now every day and feel the benefit on every level, physical emotional and spiritual. It has changed my perception which is having positive affect on my life. AMAZING

+Loretta Harris I discovered this meditation several years ago now. At that time I practiced it twice a day. However like any of these aids I find that it is all about discipline. Therefore over the years I fall of the ladder so to speak , from time to time but I always return to this meditation as it really helps me to quickly relax breathe and get centred again. Right now I do it daily. The other thing I do is listen to Abraham/Esther Hicks. Abraham talks about reaching for the highest thought to feel good as it's our bad thinking that leads us into anxiety and depression. I have found listening to Abraham and practicing taking control of my thinking has changed my life. Sometimes it gets away on me but I can always come to better thinking just listening to some Abraham. You will find plenty to choose from on KZbin.

i hear ya. every time i fall off the ladder .. i run right back here. I was wondering if it affected others as powerfully as me. It's almost like hypnosis. The effects have been total calm mind and inner spirit. Whenever i need an answer i come to it.

I LOVE this if I miss a day or two my state of mind tends to go back to self pity and resentments..it is scary. I used to meditate with a group until I found out a few things..it was devastating at the time and I put up a wall about meditating and my thinking was self thinking thinking thinking thinking was negative ...so much positivity in this message. I long to not feel anger or resentment and I do see the day when it will come naturally.... ?..

Was sitting on a swivel chair .During meditation half way, I could deeply feel a lifting and centered detaching .The, chair felt like it slowly went from facing South turning East. When over ,opened My eyes . It was where it always was. Dimensional,almost OBE,

I have tried meditating for a while and always failed, today for the 1st time I had the best experience with this video and was very aware of mindfulness...i feel accomplished and very happy, Thank you so much....

Sir myself an Orthopaedic surgeon...your relaxation technique is a masterpiece..... kindly release a 10 minutes more extended slow and deep relaxation version for more deep relaxation....your video makes me more calm and composed during surgery... thanks a lot.

Pretty good, I was able to relax fully, except for one line: you said "(you will) do what I tell you to". hearing this caused a deep upset in my body and I almost lost my relaxation and concentration, I immediately felt threatened by this wording as I think others may who have trauma in their pasts. However, everything else was useful and I felt better afterwards. Thanks.

Thanks for the warning. For some reason that sort of demand is a negative trigger for me as well. Im going to try this out but going in knowing its there is helpful.

+James S (Malforma) There is always 2 sides brother.. You may have trauma looking a knife because of your past.. but ultimately the cut an apple you need a knife.. isn't it. So sometimes the trauma that you may gone through should be first cleared from your mind. Meaning the negativity that is in your mind should be slowly removed out so that there is space for good positive thinking to enter in. One Example is : take one full glass of water and drop some colour in it. Now the glass of water will be say Red in colour. That is how our mind becomes with negativity. Now to slowly keep pouring in pure water in it.. Keep pouring slowly.. You will see the coloured water gets slowly cleared and by further pouring pure water it will be back to its original colour. The example shows how the negativity needs to be removed from our mind.. That is by adding meditation into our daily routine. Slowly the trauma will be out of your mind and you will see that such words does not affect you any more...

I feel like anti depressants save my life but I think I got to a point where I felt like I could didn't need them anymore and now I go back and forth between 5HTP and samE I know not 100% but at least I can have emotion now.

People aren't depressed because of a lack of chemicals in antidepressants. If they keep one alive, they have some use.

I use this meditation to introduce my clients, during their stay at inpatient rehab for drug and alcohol abuse, to guided meditation....I also use this one myself!! Thanks Doc!!

This worked really well up until the point about half way through when my sister came and decided she was getting in her bed and listening to Alvin and that chipmunk style songs.
