I burned my hand badly one day, I struggled to stay conscious to hold it in water. I did not sleep at all the following night - dressings and undressings and removal of dead skin were extremely painful and I'm no wimp- that's how bad it is. I can't imagine what that guy is going through, with a borderline infection on top, he needs this looked at immediately and followed through for weeks.

What he does have, is third-degree, full thickness burns, for which he should've been hospitalized (long-term in a burn unit), and severe contractures resulting from poor healing and lack of therapy. So let's not assume he's "picked at it." I'm a firefighter and medic. I can assure you that these burns are not conducive to being randomly picked at.

Ppl don't think about that. Spend a hour in a burn unit. Especially when they debride the burn or on layman's terms, Scrape all the dead skin off without pain meds. U will hear screams that make a horror movie seem lame. I really feel bad for burn victims. My aunt was a surgeon and did a rotation, clinical Idr what they're called, in a burn unit in Cleveland. Forgot my point, lmao. She told us stories of ppl with 3rd, 4th degree burns and what happens. It's a hell that I'd not want to walk through. The stories gave me chills. I talked to Marines that got out after getting hurt with lost limbs and burns, etc, and these were some of the toughest men I've ever known, and the pain and misery they went through is just incredible. The wounds sometimes will never heal properly, and look gnarly. It xan be from a boiling radiator, battery's, gas, house fires etc. It's no joke. I believe that the worst injury to ever have. Broken bones, gun shots, etc. hurt, but not like a bad burn. I feel bad for anyone who has to go through it. We complain about bad sunburn. I was intoxicated, and my friends sister ran a tanning bed. Being a 21 yr old who never used 1, me n a bud decided to try tanning. We didn't know u start out at 5 min and work up. We cranked it up on highest setting, got burned and left. Next day woke up by the most intense pain where just yo breathe hurt. All the lotion, aloe would just evaporate on our skin. All of it. We did it no clothes. It's so dumb and painful. It lasted a week. And it's nothing compared to 3rd, 4th degree. We looked like we fell in a boiling pot with blisters ALL over. And I mean ALL OVER. I will never forget it. Burns are no joke.

And of course we are not run by greed. If America just stopped being the only developed country in the world without universal healthcare. Then America could actually save money, and people would actually be able to go to the hospital and worry less. It is a win, win, win situation. America is the OECD country that spends the most in terms of GDP percentage on public healthcare. Why is that? Because hospitals get their money from the government, insurance and normal people. And they get to charge whatever they want. 2000$ for a room? Here it is free. Why? The room is here no matter if it is being used or not. So why should a room cost money? It is illegal both in the US and here to leave people without a room. So how dare you charge money for a legal requirement? Because they can. He needs medical attention for that burn. I slipped brazing on 4 inch pipe on a moving track . The torch went over the back of my hand. It took months to heal. I never missed any work. The company provided me with burn cream and wrappings. A nurse that I have seen for cleaning on day shift. I worked 2nd shift, and the security guard had training treating wounds. I know how bad those wounds hurt. May God bless this man 🙏

Im so glad I live in Canada. Medical emergencies like this are pretty much free in here. I accidentally slit the ulnar nerve in my wrist with broken glass. Hand was totally paralyzed. Within the next morning I had surgery to fix it. Hope he gets better.

You’re right giving him money doesn’t help the situation but he doesn’t seem to be on drugs. He might smoke some weed and or cigarettes but that’s probably it. He’s not drunk or jittery or shaking. I’m also a recovering drug addict. I use to do a bunch of drugs and not proud of it. But I did a bunch of pills all times of painkillers like oxycodone, hydrocodone, tramadol and others. Did do other drugs but I wasn’t addicted but like Xanax, Valium, somas and a bunch I can’t remember but always chasing a high. But what I was addicted the most was adderall and meth. Luckily I was on meth for only 9-10 months. It was doing wonders for me cause it helped with work and I lived normally cause I would ingested and not smoke it. I smoked a few times but I ate it. So bitter and nasty. But you couldn’t tell I did it. Last time I used was 5 years ago. You wouldn’t know I used drugs unless I told you. Only bring that up cause it’s from my personal experience. And it’s okay to help people out. Of course not to enable them but some do need help and the only way out is for 1 yourself. You need to be stronger than your addiction even though it sucks, 2 a support system and 3 which is money. The guy says he wants to go home. So that might be his support system. You should know this. I hope you’re not want of those recovering drug addicts that are self righteous and look down on them cause they haven’t gotten themselves straight yet. Cause that’s not supporting and just makes the issue worse

Mannnnnn I'm 32, I shot up for 14 years.. been clean over 2 years.. so many people had arms like this.. its either missing and causing MRSA or a vein got infected and if it does when doctors cut it out they leave the arm open to heal like that.. ive seen a girl who had two fist sized holes on each side of her groin from missing.. it smelled so fucking bad. Like we have had some people straight up warn us "so and so has MRSA/staph.. (s)hes gonna stink when they get close, get in the car, whatever. The burns are bullshit, they wouldnt be perfectly inverted on the tops of his arms. I swear on my life I've seen this in person so many times man. The most I've gotten was like a quarter sized scar on my arm, I went to the hospital and got it fixed immediately, unlike most addicts do because they dont want to be admitted in a hospital because they can't get high... (which i dont get, i just used to bring extra with me and when I was alone I'd go in the bathroom and do it, you already have an i.v.. so it takes half the time.. plus, you can sign yourself out whenever you want man, at least get some antibiotics then leave!) I'm so glad I left this life behind, I thought I loved it when I was in it but theres not one thing or person related to it I miss.. I love being sober. Life's vibrant and beautiful, it was always gloomy and dark when I was high, and I been that way since I was 15.. I never thought I'd feel this way again.

This is 100% from tranq usage. My father is a addict and agrees this is from his addiction. He needs to seek medical attention he needs to be on strong antibiotics to prevent more necrosis happening. He needs to keep them wrapped in a breathable bandage and cleaned daily with a antibacterial soap.

Even if he is lying about the wounds, let it go. If they are from drug use then it is totally understandable that he may feel shame or embarrassment about it. A big reason many don't seek help or treatment is because of guilt, embarrassment or shame... shouldn't hate on people so much for not being perfect or even being far from perfect. This is all just humanity.
