Nate, I'm following you from México and I moved from Arizona 10 years ago and I remember people always warning me against coming clase to homless people ...I deeple regret ever heading their advice but, I was a newcomer in the USA. When I get back...soon, I'll be helping them as much as I can. And that's all because of you. I don't think the help is small at all, Knate. To walk around in the wrong size shoes or no shoes and socks is painful and uncomfortable. The tents provide protection. The sleeping bags provide comfort and warmth so people are able to sleep, which is important for their health. Giving people a phone so they contact family is critical. It may lead to them getting a home or getting a job. Providing food and liquids when you haven't eaten all day is crucial. Giving people clothes so they can get cleaner and feel human feeds the soul. Just showing people kindness, compassion and company in itself is so important. Thank you, Knate, for all you do ❤

A trauma response is not to be confined so your brain feel like you can run away. The shelter must not feel safe enough for such traumatised people. No matter what lead to homelessness it IS trauma inducing to be homeless for whatever reason just by itself.

My main job just burned down because a drunk guy drove into a gas pump... I'm lucky to have a backup job that will possibly make due but we are all one step to homelessness. Thank you Knate, I wish I had someone like you when I was homeless but glad you are around brotha... recommend people to get jobs in security.

My granddaughter works at the Homeless Shelter in Reno. I told her about you, Knate. She has heard of you, and what blessed work you do for the homeless. Maybe you should visit the shelter and tell them what they could do to improve. She explained to me the love and concern they have for the homeless, but they have to have strict rules or there is chaos. I don't want to give her name here. When I lived in Reno I would help people mostly at the big Transit Center. I live in Las Vegas now. I keep looking for a man on your videos named "Mikey". He was a veteran with no legs and in a wheelchair. I trained his dog to be a Service Dog for him. I sure loved Mikey and his dog. He was such a humble and sweet man. People were so mean to him, he said. The last time I saw him was at the Thrift Store on Oddie. His health wasn't so good back then, 15 years ago. I loved seeing this. I don’t think people realize everything it takes to do what Knate does. We don’t even see how all the stuff gets packed in the car, packing up the backpacks by him and his wife, ordering supplies, etc. (he’s showed some of that in the past). Your days are insane! The shorts make things look simple but you can handle a lot simultaneously. I loved seeing so many people helped at once, and how you go about it. Idea for a future video: teach us how to do this. Share your tips on things like the best way to go about this in a way that is most helpful for those who need while keeping us safe (because not everyone our there is in a good state of mind), how to pick and activate a phone, most needed items (other than tents, sleeping bags, socks, and the backpacks), etc. Your video on what all you put in the backpacks was awesome! Similar to Reno, my area has a lot of shelters and resources but not enough and not everyone can or wants to to use them. We learn a lot from watching your videos but knowing what's happening in your head would help us apply your experience. Thank you for all your do, Knate! Your videos are the brightest, most hopeful, and most inspiration part of my day.
