Another great choice of song. Basically this channel has become the set list for the coolest covers band ever.

So good. I love Talking Heads, saw them in '77 in London and saw David Byrne last year in his tour around the UK. The rhythm is much harder than you think to get right. I think that's because it's a natural strumming pattern for Byrne and so you have to try to tune into that pattern - and then it all flows.

Was at a tribute to CB/GB's 2 months ago and Chris and Tina from Talking Heads were the special guests! Hanging with the crowd! Very nice, humble and approachable! Great lesson! Naive Melody( This Must Be The Place), one of the greatest songs ever! One of the tricky ones me thinks! Cheers!!

Yay! Been looking forward to this as you know. On 1st glance it already looks like the most accurate coverage of this tune. Be nice to see one no one else has covered, though I take your points about difficulty completely.

Great choice! I get what you mean about Talking Heads and guitar trickiness. The only song I'd have put first for fun, accessible "guitariness" is New Feeling (from '77 or live versions). (Trying to plant a seed!)

This is so great I ever ever even attempt to tackle a TH song. Like you said the guitar usually plays a supporting role. With the TH the sum is most definitely greater then the parts. Great song thanks.

Love this song it was a great choice... just food for thought when choosing songs for lessons. I guess youre right Yea some songs have guitars in supporting roles. But people in bands want material too In any case you rock ....great lessons

Mike Whittaker its a funny A-Major 7 triad with a g note that goes up to a C note. I'm trying to figure crosseyed and painless which has a similar chord construct to this lesson.

Heard of a van... That is... Loaded with weapons... Packed up and ready to go. Heard of some grave sites... Out on the highway... A place where nobody knows. The sound of gunfire... Out in the distance... I'm getting used to it now. I've... Lived in a brownstone... I've... Lived in the ghetto... I've lived all over this town. This aint no party. This ain't no disco. This ain't no foolin around. There's... No time for dancin. Or lovey dovey. I ain't got time for that now. :-I

Thanks for that one. I'm trying an arrangement of this, my favourite TH song for some time, but could never get the riff right. May I suggest a song? Pere Ubu's Heaven. It has the most beautiful minimalist solo ever!
