My first time viewing you, and you seem to be true blue... love the blue hair. My dad was in the JDF at New Castle while the British were still there and still involved, after Jamaica's independance. My brother and I remembered it in it's glory! You can see the red roofs of the camp for miles away if you are in the mountains. Flowers grew there from all over the world, it was beautiful throughout the camp. I remember the drills and parade with both the Jamaican and British soldiers. They had two huge German shepherd dogs that marched with the army during the drills and parades. Christmas was huge. A helicopter would fly in with Santa and bags of gifts. All the soldiers children and Invited family and friends came and received wrapped gifts. I would ride on the back of the dog... in the mess hall. We hunted birds using sling shots, and cooked them in the woods there on the base. There is a burrial ground there as well. Thanks for taking me down memory lane. I am planning a family reunion for 2021. Do they offer tours of New Castle Camp? The other park you visited seems like a great spot tor the family to partake in. Thanks. I look forward to traveling some more with you. Heather.

Very nostalgic. I came from a place call Cascade District near by. As a child my father worked for the British Army as a Mason and me and my sisters visited the camp for goodies Wow wow. The blue mountain is easily the healthiest and coldest place in Jamaica. Pure cold; rain and mist not to mention the fog. Now living in the UK I thank you for sharing your journey and sharing the memories👏😀

I've been there once for a weekend. It's an amazing experience I didn't think I was still Jamaica as the cabins had fireplace. It was so cold all our frozen things stayed frozen for the entire weekend and they put in the fridge. It got so misty most of the time I thought it was snowing and in the night viewing the city from up there was phenomenal. I would love to visit again sometime.
