Just stumbled upon your channel - It's SO refreshing to see someone a bit older in the KZbin space. I would love a video about how you overcome the fear of getting older. I'm struggling with that myself, still trying to find a career I love, so every other aspect of my life has been put on the back burner...which I know may not be the healthiest, but I can't fathom/prioritize a partner right now, or even stable income to buy a property. I have savings and could do a down payment, but I want a career first that I love before I make that commitment if that makes sense. Idk, I'm just having a hard time lately with life and when everyone else in my life seems to have those core things, I just feel so behind and scared.

Thank you for being so honest and vulnerable. I will do a video about how I've overcome the fear of getting older, but I must say that I like the person I am today in my 40s much more than my 20 year old self. I have struggled with a lot of the things you've mentioned and I will make a video on this, but in terms of your career, in my opinion you don't have to love what you do. Your job shouldn't define who you are. I think you should like what you do since you spend the majority of your day at work, but I believe your job is a means to an end. Your job provides you with the means to put a roof over your head, put food on the table, and explore the things you're passionate about (i.e. read, take a pilates class, go to museums, travel, etc.). It's all about mindset and looking at the things that really bring you joy.

Hi Whitney, I discovered your channel recently. I live between Montreal and New Brunswick. I enjoy watching KZbinr based in Montreal. I am 43, soon 44. We are about the same age - if I got it correctly. If not, my excuse is that I am French. lol I enjoy your videos. Take care.

I happen to be reading the same book and definitely have some thoughts. I think it's great to get people talking about their emotional needs, but that book operates on the baseline that 'warm and loving people' (securely attached) are the baseline for how well-adjusted people behave, which is just not the case. I knew I would have some issues with the book when 3 pages in the author already expressed the opinion that co-dependency is 'natural' to us and should not be deemed a fault or something we should correct. Which is so problematic on so many levels considering co-dependency is emotional abuse. Did you find any of the concepts and ideas in the book difficult to digest?

I think that regardless of your attachment style, all people want love in their lives. I know many 'avoidants' who are warm and loving, but they're petrified of fully giving themselves over to another person. You know, really opening themselves up. I would classify my best friend’s husband to be 'secure' and I agree with what the book says, in his case, he is very secure with himself and he is not easily triggered. I liked that the book said that often times, people with 'anxious' attachment styles overlook the 'secure' because they may come across boring. As someone with an 'anxious' attachment style, I may have overlooked the 'secure' person in the past because there was a lack of drama or challenge. As I've gotten older (and wiser 😉), the idea of added drama in my life is a complete and utter turnoff.
