Wish the machakos county govt would take those estate roads seriously. The vertical development in Syokimau is years ahead of the horizontal infrastructure.

I always advice visitors to avoid Boda Bodas. I am a local and never use them for safety and security reasons. Stats are out there for anyone who wants to argue.

You could also check out apartments in the Ruaka area which is in the suburbs but not too far from town. The road network is much more better than what I have seen in this video.

My sista while there in Kenya, you should start asking them literally everything you can before you conduct any busines out there. From the boda bodas to literally all of the other things I have witnessed that caught you by surpise. I know I will be. Thanks for sharing your channel. Peace and Love from Oakland, Ca 👊🏿💯✈️

Before 1963, during colonial times, black Africans were not allowed to live in cities, except men who worked for the government, and they could only live in bachelor or single quarters in Eastlands . Eastlands was the only place black people could live in Nairobi, and couldn't bring wives. In European areas of the city, they kept black servants such as cooks (males were referred to as "kitchen Toto's",- Barack Obama's granddad became one after he left the British Army) (toto means big baby), gardeners etc. And because Africans were not allowed to walk in the city without passbooks (were called "kipande", and were a piece of metal hang on the neck with personal details, native reserve, work permit and residents permit for Nairobi/town enclosed), the white home owners had to construct "servant's quarters" for their workers. Due to tradition and the building code having servant's quarters, they kind of stuck to date.

No she wasn't scammed. Infact she was charged a very small amount. Am Kenyan and back in 2015 I paid more than that.

Be careful with some Kenyans....some want to prey on foreigners cash coz they know you are new especially when they hear you have an accent since that is what will mainly show them you are a foreigner
