You are right. I am from Paraguay, and I don't know if there is an Australian or New Zealand embassy in Asuncion. There may be a UK consulate (their embassy is in Buenos Aires). However, the US has one of the largest embassies located there. I wonder that if you contact them, they may offer a list of people, lawyers, etc., hopefully trustworthy that may help you in the English language. There is also a "Centro cultural paraguayo-americano", or Paraguayan-American cultural center. There you can find people, both from Paraguay and English-speaking countries where you can start useful connections with people who know English. And you are absolutely right. Paraguay is a place of connections and relationships for sure,

Good suggestions, thanks. I have had some contact with the Australian Consulate in Asuncion and they are awesome to deal with. By and large we find Paraguay business people brilliant and honest to work with. It's just the odd bad apple, like you find everywhere.

There's a British Embassy in Asunción, current ambassador is Ramin Navai - didn't you hear what happened with Cerro Porteño and Falkland Islands recently? 😂

No, I didn’t. Can you please tell me?

@@helena_aña where do you live in Paraguay ? There is Canadian embassy as well. Paraguay is prototype for forest management and the ways they plan to do it around the world and cattle people to stack and pack for mega cities life as well. 💛 thank you for sharing and caring to respond.

Having lived in Paraguay for 2 years in the 90's, and now on the way to 6 years, I have found that the likelihood of being scammed by a fellow expats is 10x, if not more, higher than getting run in by a Paraguayan. Especially when it comes to getting residency, driver's licenses etc.
@LifeParaguay8 ай бұрын
Generally I agree with you Johan. Paraguay people are generally exceptionally ethical and straight up. Unfortunately however there are several recent cases where newcomers took this trust to a new level and were scammed badly.

Thank you for sharing this Adam. It seems most people who got residency in Paraguay are selling this to people to come after them as their own income ways. Setting up their pages and real estate selling consulting. There is lots of misinformations in all this digital takeover and selling or giving own data to what needs to be done to get free passage and move around. Seems Paraguay has all this new digital ID accumulation data as well with same ways as rest of the world and setting up fingerprints and the rest. Seems differences are only how fast and how much of it. Advantage seems to be in most people not registered and hot weather to be able to survivor without income rural areas. There is lots of info about monitoring forest areas and having guardianships over it by satellite, drones and sensors they are spraying all over and having income from it as they planed with new business set ups and mega cities as Paraguay has one big one. 💛 WHY PARAGUAY CAN BE “BEACON STATE” FOR FOREST MANAGEMENT
@LifeParaguay8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the message. It's a jungle out there but there are also several people who have come, obtained residence, and are now legitimately helping others move to Paraguay. Personally I appreciate these people as it would be a lot harder without them. The misinfo is definately an issue, but that's a global thing. So too is the creeping global tyranny, which no country is immune from. However, for several reasons, some of which you shared, I have optimism that in this fallen world Paraguay is about as good as it gets in regards to freedom. It's far from perfect, but there's nowhere perfect in this world.

The Trust-but-verifying-balance mindset is so important for many aspects of life - the tendency to lower out guard and put trust in so called leaders or experts. Spot on and a seasoned life lesson! Thanks Adam!

Adam I came across information that if you renounce your permanent residency from your Origin country you have to pay taxes 10% in Paraguay and report every transaction monthly and file it by accountant every month. It means any time you use card or bank account. Do you know anything about this LLC ways ? Thank you for sharing ? 💛
@LifeParaguay8 ай бұрын
Paraguay has a territorial tax system - you only pay tax on income earned in Paraguay. I think the process you are talking about is the process that you need to follow when you have a business in Paraguay. You need to file a return every month. Many people have a book keeper that does this for them and it's not expensive.

Do you think scam is possible over companies like Remax at buying property?
@LifeParaguay8 ай бұрын
I don't think any agency is above reproach however I've had a few interactions with Remax and found them generally good to deal with. I was told by one of their agents they have strict policies to ensure titles are valid and verified before being offered. I can't confirm that. Regardless, given their profile their prices will generally be geared to the expat market...meaning higher prices. Even though they're a massive company I would advise taking each interaction on its merits. Trust but verify. 😁
