Those apartments are not eerie and depressing at all! The vast majority of human beings on Earth live in the Philipines, Haiti, Peru, Jamaica, India etc and they live in shanty's, with no running water or electricity, and they would LOVE to live in those complex's. The USSR did amazing things, and thats why the majority of ex-Soviets (outside of urban, hipster Moscovites who worship the West) prefer living in Soviet times, compared to the rat race today. Where else in the worlds did ordinary working people have essentially free housing, gauranteed work, essentially free food, public transport, pensions, schooling etc.?

In truth, believe me, those panel apartments are probably absolute paradise compared to the inner-city hellholes we call "the projects" across the U.S., which I'm sure you know!! LOL...
