I feel like the nails were a fair price. I typically pay around $70 usd for get polish and art, tip included. I generally go to independent nail artists rather than salons, so I pay more. But I’ve seen nail art for $5 per nail, so that price for the tips seems reasonable...
@pdx_fashionista3 жыл бұрын
I second this. In some salons I’ve seen that they have tiers for nail art. Like for example linear/simple motif is $2-3/nail, more elaborate details cost more per nail.

The countryside footage was so beautiful and calming. It also felt a little lonely? But that's just me projecting. I remember when I studied abroad I really struggled with making friends because I didn't have enough grasp of the language to make jokes. I feel that so much of my personality and bonding with people is my sarcasm. When you can't be sarcastic or make witty remarks in a new language, you have to default to physical humor which just wasn't "me." It's funny how I prepared for so many things before going abroad but didn't think I'd miss joking around. I hope you're able to stay long enough to master the language and comfortably joke with your neighbors and new friends. In regards to those nails. My goodness that's a lot of money! I'm in Austin, TX and that would probably be ~$75. That said, I wouldn't know because I'm a cheapskate and don't treat myself to manis :)

Here in The Netherlands if you do tips you would pay somewhere between € 55,00 and € 75,00 euro. Depending on which material you want them to use and if you want to lengthen your own nails or want totaly new nails on your nail. Also the shape you choose for your nail can difference in price. Then you pay for the nailart per nail, so that's somewhere between € 2,50 en € 4,50 depending on what kind of nailart or decoration you want. And sometimes you pay extra for the gel nailpolish and that would probably be somewhere between € 15,00 and € 25,00, but it can also be included in the price. Differences per nail salon. This is if you go to a professional nail salon, not all nail salons have these prices. You can go to a cheaper nail salon as wel, but they use very bad materials for your nails, skin and health and most of the time they don't put on the nails the way they should be put on. So that means your nail is going to be damaged. I think in an not professional salon you pay € 45,00 for everything togheter. But I would net recommand that because of someones health. So for me the Japanese prices are very standard if you go to a professional nail salon.

We loved to go for lunch to this small home restaurant close to our Uni in Oita, run by a sweet old couple. It was the best food in town. You just had to bring a lot of time since he did all the cooking by himself. But they had a huge Manga collection you could look at and I just loved the time we got to hang out there together. Really miss their food. It was superb. Heard the place unfortunately closed 😭

Your nails turned out beautiful! She did an amazing job! Where I am in America a basic manicure, tips, gel and a design would cost $70 + a tip. I think price can change heavily based off what individual things they do for the manicure. For example I can get a manicure as basic as it gets for $15 or a more detailed, multiple treatment manicure for $50 so I think it depends on that too.

I’m Australian, gel manicure with tips - depending on where you go is roughly $50AUD so that’s about $38USD. Nail art is usually $5 per nail. When I was in Tokyo I paid 12,000¥ for a manicure. No gel! No tips. Just polish. But it was the city. And it was New Year’s Eve. I then put my own nail art stickers on. Which a Japanese girl told me was cute when I asked for directions ☺️ Love love love your videos. They make my heart long to go back to Japan. Adore Gus Gus ♥️

I was actually clipping my nails while watching your video, and I paid about USD $3 for the nail clippers which I have used about 300 times, so my cost was about USD $0.01. No gel or decoration, though, but if I did, it would be a T-cell gobbling up a coronavirus virus particle. It is always a treat to see Gus-Gus on your vids, and your neighbor! What level, do you think, your Japanese is at this point (you seem pretty good) and how long would you like to stay in Japan? It seems you are adapting well and are enjoying it.

I’m in Stockholm, Sweden and I get my gels done every 3 weeks. I pay the equivalent of 50$ every session, but that’s bog standard gels on natural nails. Designs and tips are more expensive. But here it’s also common to tip your nail technician! So I spend about 60$ total every time and if I can tip more I always do 🥰

Loved your video. I remember being in Japan and wanting to get my nails done and I saw the price and thought no way. In Australia gel nails is $30, Sometimes 25 depending on where you go.. You can buy a gel nail led kit and do your own nails for way cheaper. Online you can get the led lamp for around 30 dollars and then you can buy your own gel nail polish for around 3 dollars a bottle if your buying from China.. really good value, so maybe keep that in mind if you want to save some money.

In NJ, a gel set of nails with tips, and full manicure, is anywhere from $60-90, typically. Then add the nail art, which again, in NJ, usually costs between an additional $10-35 bucks So I'd say that's a pretty good price.
