Province life which is considered country or more rural life in the Philippines is aspired to by many expats and Filipinos. The slower pace of the province has many advantages. This trip was to Daanbantayan from Cebu City, Cebu the Philippines. The tricycle taxis, public market, white sand beaches, schools and commerce of the area offer much to be explored.

Fantastic Video ! My wife is from Calape-Daanbantayan and the tour was exciting. The ' Old Church ' that you did not get a chance to visit is where we got married 24 years ago ! She is a ' province girl ' and my Cebuana Princess. At our reception Papa said I was his " 8th Son " which was an honor. Love the people, the culture, and my beloved wife ! Keep up your videos...

That beach is awesome! The smaller resorts in province areas usually have good deals. Sometimes it is better to get there and check it out first than committing to a place on line without seeing it first hand. We made that mistake on our last vacation. Although we had a good time, the area was not great where we got the room. We have been posting that trip in our last few videos. Jollibee is a big bonus with our kids. Give them a Jollibee, a pool or beach and they think they are in Heaven. Maly loves going to the markets when in a new place. We try to get a place we can cook our own food, so her and Grandma like to go get their own fish to cook. I bet they would have loved that market!

Rod--if you're ever able to veer off to the nearby towns of Medellin and San Remigio, you'll see some nice beach views and resorts. Daan Bantayan is pretty for sure. The quality of light near the ocean is so pretty.. We were lucky--no damage for us back in December although some strong winds and rain.

Boom -apparently you're supposed to say that if your the first to view the video . Anywho, they have free range cattle there just like their are in Texas. People in the U.S. complain about noise pollution from jet flight paths as they take-off from the airport and from cars on highways whereas in the Philippines it's complaints stemming from karaoke and roosters One common trait among people in the provinces ( from what I've seen in a number of videos) is the fact that they don't swim!! Rod , the Jollibee is in Chandler not Phoenix. Daniel
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Daniel. I also see a lot of "free range" goats...or they just ate through their tether. Noise is an issue all over the world definitely. Many Filipinos do not swim even if they live next to the ocean and others are like fish with many kids using the sea as their playground.

I THOUGHT American foreigners were not allowed to own land or property, over there.....can you clarify or do a future video on it?
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 4 жыл бұрын
Foreigners can own the building but not the land so you have to lease the land. If you are married to a Filipino, the land is in her name, and it is best to have a lawyer draw up a lease so she doesn't decide to throw you out one day.

This is Cebu suburban, the most visited island by foreigners but....not many people speak good English....so the myth: every one in the Philippines speak English is not true, or exaggerated.....and their bragging that the Philippines is the 3 largest English speaking country is also false.... in big cities like Manila and Cebu, most people know English ( becoz it’s mandatory in school), but less than 5% speak English every days at home....the only one country in Asia where people speak English regularly in public and at home is Singapore.
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 4 жыл бұрын
The English comprehension varies widely. Pronunciation is different here so it can take a trained ear also to understand some and to learn the local language. My experience is that over 60% of Filipinos can communicate effectively in English with many doing very well. Some are just shy or uncomfortable also. I have had many taxi drivers tell me they have poor English and only 6th grade education but I have had a good conversation with them.
@Namoari941
@Namoari941 4 жыл бұрын
I did say most Filipinos KNOW English because it’s mandatory in schools, but they don’t speak it regularly, they will ended up can not communicate in English , 99% of them speak Tagalog or dialects to each other, so it can not be called an English speaking country as they used to brag. English is wildly understood, but NOT wildly spoken. Even in the U.S most Filipino Americans speak their language with each other most of times, only young people born there do speak English more then Tagalog.
