@Steven The Plug In Europe 150k USD for a house is very expensive. You can have a fully insulated 100m house with floor heating for less. Here you're getting a much smaller wooden cabin with an outdoor shower and a bedroom that you have to climb into. Have fun in winter ;)
@roypatterson9910

@@smieszek8080 yeah, but you have to remember that there's a lot of steel that's being used to build this tree house, which steel is more expensive than wood, not only that, it's also stronger than wood, so you have to take this into consideration. Another thing, it's built out of mostly cedar, which is more expensive than just regular wood, which cedar will last forever.

It's a cool idea, but I couldn't imagine spending all that money on a house that is solely depending on the tree staying alive. If five years down the road the tree gets diseased and starts dying you're screwed.

@Kellogg's I don't think you know what pain is in terms of what it is for. Pain is a warning response to let you know something is dangerous, and to stop or get away. It would make 0 sense for a tree to have pain receptors, as it can't do anything with that information. It's rooted in place, and has no means of locomotion. About 1 percent of a tree is actually alive. The inner bark, the leaves, and the roots. The rest of the tree is pretty much dead. That's why you see trees with massive hollows in them that provide nesting for other animals still growing.
@steeldriver1776
@steeldriver1776 4 жыл бұрын
I'm only an engineer through the week, but given the weight of this house and how it's attached, you could easily brace it for removal and install elsewhere. The I-beams would be re-attached to new trees, adjusted where needed and the building placed again on the I beams. You'd see disease coming with enough warning and the move would cost about $8K, more for professionals and less to DIY with equipment rental.

I know someone who has only an outdoor shower in northern Ontario. They have a portable shower that pumps up the water from a barrel and heats it. It's still enough of a hassle they don't shower every day though. You would probably choose a sponge bath or wet towel most days and a full shower less often.

The man could have made the shower area more functional by considering a toilet and a facility of shower with or without the roof. That would make this place more habitable year round. I would equally expect the birds keen on shitting around if they find the back space habitable ... The interiors are splendid but you are right: so much money for so less facilities. And I didn't like the trees expected to bear the load. Hmmm ...

After seeing so many Tiny House videos, Earthship videos, and Shipping Container Homes videos, I would offer some constructive criticism. They really did not take advantage of the space very well on the first floor. For all that room, they could really have created a Fully Functioning Kitchen as well as an indoor bathroom and shower. Seattle gets VERY cold, even in the summer some times, so I have a feeling that the joy of touching a tree while showering might wear off at 30 degrees and having to run down the stairs to relieve the bowels in the snow or use a can upstairs and to dump it somewhere doesn't sound very happy making. 40 years is too long not to have come up with something a little more luxurious. But hey, roughing it in your roughened tree house may appeal to some men and I might stay for a weekend, but that's it. Already been there and done that roughing it stuff and it is way over rated.

Ive just seen this on tv. Its Charlie, Pete's son, treehouse. I've seen this on tv while they are making it. And Charlie tried playing one of the guitars. Its the family's gift to Charlie. Its has everything. Toilet, bathroom and kitchen. It also has a loft that serves as a sleeping quarter. Whoaah.

This is no doubt one of the unique tiny houses we have seen so far on your channel. Though we understand that its budget is way higher than the usual tiny houses you show but still, a beauty like this should not go unseen. Once again thank you Bryce, to showcase such an amazing work of art. It is truly inspirational. enJoy ;)

Absolutely. I really like to cover spaces of all kinds, and at all budget levels. The budget of this treehouse could be greatly reduced by doing it as a DIY project, as the labour adds considerable cost to any project. I love treehouses though and would love to build one myself one day! Thanks for watching!

I love your treehouse, it totally awesome, mine is a deck double deck (23 and 33 ft. high) not a house, I hope you dont mind a little critic, you stairs are too long and curved in the wrong direction . I see it all the time on Pete's treehouses, they are awesome but they look like a turtle with a longdog leg. The stairs should curve back under the tree, or right angle back under the tree. Mine look like scaffolding, you step down 8 steps to a landing, turn right down 6 stairs and turn left down 10 stairs, all remaining under the tree to a ground deck below.

I love all the ideas and imagination of all the tiny houses but this I truly learned something. I learned about the founder and the trees themselves how they grow and a treehouse can be reinforced without compromise. About cedar wood and it's resistance to weather because of it's sturdiness. I can go on! This guy is cool. He's passionate about what he's explaining. I learned alot from him. Thge house is cool but this dude sold the whole package. Thanx for sharing

I, as obviously everybody, am wondering on where the toilet may be. There where no pipes leading upwards, so how will they use the shower? Or the sink? $150,000.00? In us currency? I could get a concrete house on 4000 sq feet for that in my country. 😂😂. I'm not convinced that doesn't hurt the tree. They could've elevated it on columns answer still have the space under it.

150k for the WHOLE thing including labor and material costs I think for this is pretty darn good, especially because of the engineering that would have gone into the construction of a suspended building. I definitly think for the whole thing 150k is pretty reasonable, especially compared with the smaller tiny homes on wheels that cost the same price

I absolutely LOVE your channel!! I've been binge watching it for days on end. it's really got me wanting to live in a tiny house or a bus conversion. my boyfriend's dad has a school bus and he's semi turned it into an RV. I was skeptical about living in it, but when I see all that can be done with it, it really opened my mind and I've been thinking about it more and more! I have a friend who is an electrician and he said that when we wanna convert the bus, that he'll do all the electrical for free!! Keep up the amazing work! Definitely one of my favorite channels!!
