UK: better education system (more well rounded, less private schools, better state education for all, better childcare, nicer schools), more culture, more museums, more art galleries, nicer public parks, better transport (UK is covered with public transport unlike Australia), universally walkable (Australia is car dominated unlike the UK), free healthcare, more polite people. Better TV and media too.

I agree only one point you said that public transport is better in UK. In Australia, you need a car for sure. Rest , I don't agree. If you see in terms of job opportunities, Australia is best. Because here unemployment rate is less. It's a developing country. In terms of enjoying life, Australia is far ahead of UK in terms of climate, outdoor life and big houses. Any time you can go out, nice weather. In UK, only 1 month we go out to enjoy and rest whole year sitting in front of a heater. In Australia also have a good educational system. Maybe Oxford and Cambridge university are in UK. But how many mallus people studied in Oxford? Maybe very few. Many students came to UK to do higher studios and they don't get any job and working as carers jobs.

In my opinion, Australia is the best country in the world . Australia is much ahead of UK in terms of climate, salary , big houses and outdoor life . I live in UK but i like Australia. Here in London is the third expensive city in the world. If u see the livable cities in the world, we see Australian cities. . Every people have their own prospective. For Indians Australia is best and for Europeans , UK is better because they like to travel different countries. But indians are more family oriented, so for them Australia is better.

Australia winner in transport? Absolutely no way. Unless you live in the inner suburbs (which are incredibly expensive in Sydney/Melbourne, and even Brisbane), you are looking at very long commutes with one or more changes with, often, weird frequencies. There is a far greater % of inhabited UK you'll be able to see by public transport than Australia. If you have a car, the differences may be favorable to Australia, where petrol is cheaper.

Nah, UK climate is best described as comfy, not so hot you can fry an egg on the pavement, not so cold you'll need 8 layers just to feel warm. UK has the perfect temperate climate, and especially considering the way the world is going over the next 40 to 50 years I wouldn't be surprised if Aussies start flocking here to escape drought and heat stress.

@@thedewberry_6399 first time I hear this UK has good climate. In my opinion, Australia has best climate just as India. Australia has different types of climate in different areas as the country is big . So u can choose which part to go. But in UK , from top to bottom it's cold. Everyt time we are in dark and no sun during winter. But in Australia, if you need tropical climate go to Queensland. If you need subtropical climate Go to New South Wales. If you need extreme cold and snow, go to Canberra. If you need dry hot climate, go to northern territory. So u have lots of choices. So Indians prefer Australia and European prefer UK in terms of weather. So it's personal choice

@thedewberry_6399 8 ай бұрын
@@stegingeorge8861 I mean that's your personal preference. The UK is by no means cold, it is cooler than India or Australia, but to say it is cold is just not true, our average temperature is 12c, this may seem cold to you as you're from a relatively hot country but it is by no means cold. The UK has an ideal climate, and the IPCC has actually listed the UK and Ireland as "lifeboat nations" (along with the Scandinavian nations, New Zealand and some others) due to the fact our nation will be able to cope with the impact of climate change much more than other nations (for example India with its continuous droughts and heat waves exceeding 40c, or Australia fluctuating from devastating floods to devastating wild fires) - to each their own, but I love the UK climate.

@@stegingeorge8861 That sounds like an opinion, not based on any fact, the idea that humans aren't adapted to live in variable weather is laughable and showcases how little you actually know. Australia and India meanwhile suffer from severe heat extremes that cause tens of thousands of deaths each year (particularly India) and wide spread destruction from floods and wildfires. I'll take the temperate and relatively placid British weather any day, if you're too soft to handle a bit of rain and the cool winters that's on you my guy.

Australia is a paradise compared to the uk . I personally dislike living in the uk and am a self employed person living in a seaside resort in the north of England . I feel the only real positives about living here are the royal family , free nhs (which we have to pay for in our taxes anyways ) , and the economy, employment and education even though where I live there isn’t much of that . But it’s getting generally very hard for the young to find cheap housing , education is very expensive as your paying over £40k in student loans for a degree ,a government who is full of promises who isn’t really focused on the people but keeping themselves in power and concentrating on legally lining there own pockets , cost of renting has gone sky high , a lot of people can be quite unsociable if your a stranger and a lot of people are weary of each other and there are a lot of social and health issues , isolation and depression. Some of the place looks gloomy - rundown shops and old houses and a lot of the place is overindustrialised. Loads of homeless and people living in poverty looking to food banks , immigrants - brexit was supposed to have helped but it hardly hasn’t which was about the only distinctive thing the conservatives managed to achieve for us in the last 30 odd years and where I live there are large hotels housing these immigrants whilst the local council ignores the English homeless that are living on the streets just outside . We also aren’t in with the euro like the rest of Europe so it costs more to go on holidays and the hassle of conversion and other problems it brings. Yeah we have the freedom to criticise the government at least but we wouldn’t have to criticise the government in the first if we had a good one . But for me it’s mainly the weather- most of the time in England the weather is crap especially in the north where I live - I work from home so because I don’t have loads of friends and family I like to go outdoors a lot to exercise and get fresh air to reduce the boredom of being inside but most the time the weather is gloomy eg it’s like I wanted to go for a long walk the other day and it was p***** it down all day and it’s mid summer - then we get tons of windy cloudy miserable days were it’s hard to motivate yourself to even leave the house - the weathers so unpredictable in the uk as well and you never know how it’s going to behave from one moment to another and that’s just summer - then there’s winter - freezing , raining, windy , Ice, cloudy , it starts getting dark by 2pm and is dark by 4pm - it’s so depressing . And then when you eventually get a good day but because you’ve been so depressed having been stuck inside because of the bad weather you find it hard to motivate yourself to go outside then there’s all the heating bills you have to pay just to keep your house warm most of the year . Then when you do go outside your breathing in all the crap air full of pollutants so your probably doing yourself more harm than good and especially a lot of the beaches are polluted and the water is freezing and a lot of the food is highly processed and a lot of people are in poor health . I hate the UK- it’s just a small crappy post industrial island . I mean there are worst places in the world and it wouldn’t be a bad place if the weather was better and the days were longer in winter as our economy is quite good and there are some interesting places to visit and there are things to do eg night clubs , bars, theatres , cinema , parks etc but when the weathers bad they are not that appealing . That’s why a lot of people move abroad from here which is what am going to do soon and am sure I’ll never look back .

Hi Paul, I'm an Australian who's been to UK multiple times, and various parts of it (because I'm in music and I love it there for the people and music culture). I have to tell you it sounds like being in the north of England sounds like a large part of why you're unhappy there - weather more awful, more homelessness, darker earlier, freezing etc - probably a bit easier and less grim down south. Yeah, we don't have that here to the same degree, but we do have a massive housing crisis going on and despite what's said in this video - Sydney's I think now the #2 most expensive city to live in, rents are astronomical at every level, as are house prices... at least you can go to the beaches (in the summer) to escape living in the western suburbs which if you're low income is where you'll be living. The other cities aren't far behind in terms of housing issues. Cost of living is massive now. We have nature but it's getting obliterated at a fast rate for farming, plantations, logging, and to build new ugly subdivisions...and culturally it's pretty hopeless I've found. It's more of a sporting country unless you're finding your niche of people in the cities. Government here is also absolutely self-serving, not much difference between our left and conservative parties (the two major parties). And in bed with mining companies, they have back-door access to politicians here. It also gets cold here in winter and expensive power bills as houses aren't built for cold the way they are in the UK. Power costs are big here as well (although maybe not quite as bad as over there). Just saying, if you managed to try to resettle here, you might find it isn't what you thought. 😕 Best wishes.

@@tln6576 Hi! Thanks and really appreciate your detailed reply here . I’ve definitely taken into account what you’ve mentioned in your comment and in England we use the saying -‘the grass always looks greener on the other side ‘ - which means effectively it always seems others have it better than you but in reality that isn’t always the case - so I guess this applies to Australia as well as it seems you have your own issues over there also . I’d rather have those issues you mention though than be stuck in most of the time in the uk because of mainly the weather - I know that sounds superficial but it feels sooo hard to have the energy to do anything when it’s freezing like it is at present here - I can’t even get the motivation to tidy up my garden and go out and do a bit of shopping never mind all the other things I need to do - it seems like a real push to do anything in winter here and it seems like most people feel the same and are just busy getting up and just going to work and getting home ASAP . Luckily though I live in a restort - Blackpool - not sure if you’ve heard of it or been there - where there is some entertainment and things to do especially when the better weather comes but I do feel sorry for people who live in small towns and cut off remote areas where there isn’t much to look forwards to but of course everyone to there own as some people like that - I guess that applies to your country also especially in the outbacks . Even if I wanted to live in Australia or New Zealand or the US now id be too old anyways now as am 55 so just the age issue alone wouldn’t of allowed - should of done it when I graduated from university and I was in my 20s/30s I guess - they say with experience and mistakes comes wisdom - but wisdom isn’t much use when your past it like me lol Anyways , seems like you have an interesting and varied life being employed in music especially if it allows you to travel to interesting places and to different parts of the world as well - am guessing your a singer or musician or an organiser of some sorts then ? Also what do you think of the UK compared to Australia then - which do you prefer and why ? It would be interesting to know - most people I’ve spoken to who have lived in both places seems to always prefer Australia and infact it’s quite unusual to find Australians living here so surely it’s got to be better over there then ? Thanks for your reply .

A bit poorly researched video, especially the information on healthcare. For eg., you say that in the UK you need to pay for prescriptions. That is not true for Scotland, which is also a part of the UK. In Scotland, all prescriptions are free. Also, in Australia it's a mix of public and private healthcare. Most people have private healthcare, unlike the UK, where most depend on the NHS. So getting treated is much faster and easier in Australia than in the UK.

Lived in both and Australia is a better suit than the UK for me. - The feeling of space in Australia is very liberating, the UK is too cramped and crowded. - Australia has numerous climates and biomes from tropical rainforests to snowy mountains and everything in between, the UK is pretty homogeneous in comparison. - I find food and produce in Australia to be more fresh and taste better. - Australians generally are more enthusiastic and optimistic compared to Brits who are more reserved and somewhat pessimistic. - The vast array of outdoor activites available year round in Australia is fantastic. - "Mateship" is an important cultural value in Australia, everyone will lend a hand and help if you need it. In the UK it sort of felt like every man for himself. - Politically the UK is a circus act - The NHS has been on the brink of collapse, it's a case of when.

And now the unbiased view of the UK. The people are generally miserable, the culture and attitude is also pathetic - Go to Australia 👌

I'm not miserable and neither are the folks I know. The culture isn't pathetic nor is people's attitude. There are people unhappy in the UK, of course, just as there will be people unhappy in Australia.
