I'm glad the US Navy provides recreational activities like the picnics and athletic games. Nothing is too good for our service members, and especially for those among a captive audience like deployed sailors at sea.

Amphibious vessels are miniature aircraft carriers, not so big as carriers; carriers are like one in a town of that size.

And Marines don't operate that SHIP!!! SAILORS DO! Marines are carried on board as assault troops! Dang get it right! I'm a 25 yr combat veteran, army, and even I know that because my dad was a ww2 marine and now my son is a Marine.

Thank you for correcting. I served on LHA class, and yes, 1,200 sailors operate ship, and up to 2,000 Marines would deploy. The USMC contingent that was permanently serving onboard managed Combat Cargo

Sorry Marines don't operate the vessel(s). Sailors do. Marines are combat, security and air personnel (pilots and support). Officers don't cook-they eat. Cook rates 'CS' prepare the food.

When I was in the United States, Marine Corps, the first Navy ship, I was on with the USS Bellwood, which was classified as an LHA 3 and it was an amphibious assault ship like a small aircraft carrier and it was so sturdy that whenever they decommissioned it, they used their photograph practice to sink it, but they couldn’t get it to sink lol they ended up having to sync it with explosives because it took several hits from military shells and airplane rackets and still wouldn’t sink

Sorry to upset you into so many separate replies. I don't know where to go for grammar lessons as an adult. I learned in early elementary school. Maybe consider attending regularly. It may take some effort dealing with a memory like yours. Have faith! Children everywhere learn. So can you! Grammar is the difference between helping your friend, Jack, off a horse. And helping your friend jack off a horse. Implementing the good grammerz also helps in keeping us kids from teasing thems that be the less educateded. You got this!

Quit useing out of date video of aircraft onboard amphibious ships. Saw lots of Harrier video, Navy and Marines no longer use but not much of tilt-rotor vtol aircraft. How many pao fleet week videos did you view to get this semi accurate video. Recommend you use a highly accurate reference guide for research (Janes fighting ships and Janes worlds military aircraft.)

How in the hell do you screw up in regards to the fact that sailors deal with the ship and marines deal with training during WESTPACS.
@KennethStone
@KennethStone 6 ай бұрын
OK, couple things. The flight deck of an LHD doesn't have fixed wing planes, it has rotary wing (helicopter) and V/STOL craft like the F-35B. Second, the Marines don't "stear the ship", the Navy does. The jarheads are just hitching a ride 😉. And also, the cooks are not officers, they're almost all enlisted mess specialists.

"The flight deck of an LHD doesn't have fixed wing planes"(sic) Incorrect "V/STOL craft like the F-35B."(sic) F-35B is a STOVL fixed wing strike fighter. The AV-8B which has been serving aboard amphibs since 1985 is a V/STOL fixed wing light attack ground strike/fighter platform.
