A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to meet the North-Korean ambassador, his wife and three others that work with him. I was able to talk about their country with his wife, and it gave me a new perspective on the people from North-Korea. There was also a person from my country who had been working with them for a lot of years, and he talked to me about some of the differences he encountered when he visited. I'm not saying I support how Kim Jong Un chooses to rule his country in any way, but maybe we should be a little bit more open minded. The reason why I was there was because I'm learning south-korean. I was able to speak some Korean with the ambassadors wife even if I had only been learning for a little over a month. They were all really sweet people! They even sang for us. I was surprised by the choice of song by the ambassador. He sang "My heart will go on" by Celine Dion lmao (Sorry if this didn't make any sense, english is not my first language)

The ambassador and his wife belong to the elite of their society. They hardly represent the average inhabitant of North Korea. I'm not saying that that negates all that they told you, but I would take their stories with a grain of salt if I were you. They are there to positively represent their country. It's their job.

Sadly since it's such a secretive country there's not really any statistics one can go by. But considering other historically socialist countries like the soviet union, I'd imagine the crime rate to be really low. Crimes like petty theft or breaking into someones place was pretty much non-existant over there. Most people didn't even lock their doors! It was safe, because everybody was taken care of.

I was a student of the Juche idea during my university days. In the end it just comes off as full of nonsense and random subject matter. Ask any North Korean to explain what it is and they'll just give you some general answer with no real meaning, just like what this woman in the video just did.

And how is that? North Korea fought one of the most genocidal Nation, the U.S, with Juche as it’s ideology, unless you enjoy living in the U.S atop the blood and bones of my Native American family members the U.S has been genociding since 1776.

@@alf-c9r The US did terrible things to my home country as well. But what does this have to do with my comment? I was a Juche student at my university. It is full of nonsense. @alf-c9r

@@alf-c9r If you cannot summarize the main ideas of an ideology in two minutes then it is not worth studying. Look at how cold and anti-human the architecture is. It's like everything there exists to remind you that you're irrelevant and nothing is built for you or for a sense of community. Explains why even though there were plenty of shots of public places, there was no public. No people.
